Bear Hug!
These cute little animal candy huggers are the perfect handmade kids Valentine’s project. Your little ones will love sharing these with their classmates! Download our PDF template or SVG cut file below and your kids will have fun wrapping around chocolate treats or Valentine’s gifts. We made our set from a kraft card stock, but they are adorable in any color. Pick up these red and silver heart candies at your local grocery store and use little glue dots to hold everything in place.
If you have a personal cutting machine you can print and cut these Valentine’s Candy Huggers in no time at all. Just download the SVG file below and save to computer. Choose your card stock and print then cut as per the machine instructions. If you are planning to cut these Valentine’s Candy Huggers by hand, then print out the PDF template below and cut the patterns out with scissors. Draw around them onto card stock and cut out using scissors or a craft knife. You can draw the faces on with a marker! To download, choose from one of our easy membership options here.

Hello,
I’m trying to open this on my Silhouette Cameo and it says the file I’m trying to access is not supported. How should I open it?
Thank you,

I am trying to cut these with my cricut explore one but it is giving me an error message telling me to remove the exclusive content. Do you know why? I purchased your monthly plan just so that I could get these for my daughter.
I have not encountered this error message before but I have heard of others experiencing this. They have told me that they signed out of their Design Space and when they signed back in the error message was gone. Best of luck!!
I can’t find the file to download it.
The templates are available for members only and you can find them the links at the bottom of the post 🙂

I joined your site just to download these – I love them. BUT, when I print at 100% they still appear smaller/shorter than the ones in the photo…?? Any ideas?
They aren’t that large so they may be printing correctly! They are around 4.5 inches tall. Does this match the size that you are printing?
이뻐요~!! cute
Thanks!
Oh, they are so sweet, thank you for the pattern, my twins will love them !
Wonderful!!

These are amazing!
I was wondering how you get the eyes so perfectly rounded!?
Do you use a craft knife? Xx
I cut out the eyes and other details using my Cricut 😉 If you do not have a cutting machine, I would say to color in the details in the face using a black marker (or any color you would like!)
Can this be used with my Silhouette Cameo?
Yes! You can upload this onto your Silhouette if you have the Silhouette Designer Edition software
Oh my goodness, these are SO precious! I had to start following you on Pinterest and Facebook, so I can keep up with all of your cutie patootie ideas like these!
Thank you so much!! You can find me on Instagram too 🙂
Love these cannot wait to cut them out!
Enjoy!!
I just want to buy the valentine candy huggers for church kid’s and the easter version as well. I do not want to subscribe. Can I just buy the files?
You can find some individual templates on my Etsy shop. Are you looking for the PDF or SVG files? Here is a link to the PDF file listing of the Valentine’s huggers: https://www.etsy.com/listing/263590282/valentines-day-candy-huggers?ref=shop_home_active_1

It shouldn’t take too long! Especially if you have a Cricut, then it will be a breeze 😉
I have a Cricut but am clueless how I would do this !!! Help. please !!! These would be fabulous for my preschool classroom !!
Wonderful!! You can download and save the SVG cut file onto your computer, then upload into your Design Space. Then you are ready to cut it with your Cricut!
Will the file also work on a Silhouette??
You will be able to use our SVG files with a Silhouette if you have the Designer Edition software 🙂
This is amazing!
Thanks!!

Hi! Thanks for this adorable idea and for sharing the designs! In reply to a few people asking about the Silhouette Cameo, only the Pro version of the software supports SVGs. The free version supports DXFs (which can be exported from Illustrator or Inkscape) or tracing bitmap files, such as a PNG with good contrast between the shape and background. Here’s one tutorial for converting: http://michellesdigitalcreations.blogspot.com/2012/01/converting-svg-files-to-use-with.html
These are adorable! Thanks!

Thank you:-)
I am a teacher and am planning to make these for my students. Thank you so much for sharing your creative idea. I have a Silhouette Cameo and I’m unable to open the SVG file like another commenter. When I try to open the file I get a message that says this file type is not supported. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
How sweet of you to make these for your students!! I really wish I knew the answer but don’t have a Silhouette any longer. Try to rename the file to end with .svg if that doesn’t work I would recommend contacting Silhouette’s customer service team and ask them. Silhouette do support svg files and I have a lot of readers that have Silhouettes.
These are so cute! I convinced my daughter to use these instead of store bought cards, but I can’t seem to get the file to import into my Silhouette software. It keeps saying that the file type is not supported. Any suggestions? I have updated the software to the latest upgrade, but I am fairly new at using the Silhouette.
I just had another reader ask the same question and I really wish I knew the answer. I know that sometimes renaming the file after it has downloaded to .svg will do the trick, if that doesn’t work I would recommend contacting their customer service team and see if they can help. I have a lot of readers that have Silhouette and I know they support SVG files.
Hello, I love these sweet little huggers! I am so excited to give one to each of the preschoolers where I teach for Valentine’s Day! I’m having issues getting your template into my Silhouette program. I’m not sure how to solve this. I’ve fiddled with it and brought it in, but I can’t crop the image to fill a 12×12 page with multiple critters. Any advise you can suggest would be welcome! Also, you might consider submitting this to the Silhouette Cameo library where users could purchase your designs. Thanks for sharing these sweet little guys!
Thank you for your suggestion! Sorry about the trouble, I really want to help I am just not that familiar with the Silhouette Cameo. I would suggest giving their customer service team a call and see if they can help you solve the problem. Hope you and your preschoolers have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

These were a BIG hit at the independent living center that I volunteer and teach crafts at. The residents thought they were soooo cute and next week they will attached them to doily valentines for delivery with singing telegrams.
Also my mom has been hospitalized for a week and I brought a dozen for her to give to the caretakers that treat her kindly.
Again…thank-you-thank-you-thank-you!
Wow, how wonderful!!! Thank you for sharing how you use them with me, makes me really happy to hear that these little candy huggers are spreading cheer.

[…] Seriously adorable!!! Check out these super cute “Hug a Valentine” Printables? How sweet sweet sweet are they? You are welcome!
Hi Lia,
Just love your blog! I am trying to upload the svg file for this project into my Cricut design space, but each time I try to export it from my desktop or downloads folder, I get a message that it is not an svg file. I can see in the download it has .svg, but when I save it anywhere, it doesn’t have that ending anymore. Does any of this make sense?
It works fine on our end, maybe give Cricut Customer Service Department a call and see if they can walk you through it. It might be a browser error.
Thank you for sharing…these are adorable. I just watched your video about downloading SVG’s and you said the Cricut Design Space doesn’t keep the correct size and we need to re-size them. How do we know what size to resize them to so the candy fits? I also had the same problem when I tried to do the Halloween haunted tree setting, and mine came out really small. Thank you so much.
It really depends on the size of the candy:) It is just an educated guess. I am happy to hear that people are watching my videos though:)
Ik vind het leuk om iets nieuws te zien
Thank you:)
Love these! So cute!
Thank you:)
These are adorable! You are very talented!
Thank you so much:)
Merci pour ce gentil partage, vos p’tits animaux sont tous mignons.

I do not have children. But those are the most wonderful candy holders I have ever seen. You are such an amazing talent!:) Going to use the template and just hang the animals on my year round tree.Thank you,Vicki
This is my favorite comment today! xoxo
These are so cute but what are svg cut files? Sorry I don’t know. 🙂
SVG cut files are for personal cutting machines. If you don’t have one I have also included a pdf to cut from:)
Oh, these are so darling! I am so endlessly inspired by your site…so glad I ran across it in this big blog world. 🙂 Hope you are having a wonderful week!
Thank you so much, your comment warms my heart:)
