Get Ready: Photos of Flowers + Video
Get Ready: Photos of Flowers + Video
Welcome to our crepe paper flower master class!
In this first intro lesson, I give you a sneak peek of each individual flower and stem we will be making, as well as the final four arrangements. You will find them below the video. This will give you a reference point, but note that I will include these photos again with each lesson.
But before we get started, here is a very informative video giving you a bit of the history of crepe paper and a breakdown of each type of crepe paper that you can find on the market today. We filmed this video a few years ago to answer commonly asked questions about crepe paper. When someone understands crepe paper’s nuance, it allows them to make the most of it with their crepe paper flower crafting.
Once you have watched this video, you will be ready for the next intro lesson about all of the tools and materials we will use in this class.
Enjoy! Lia
In this workshop, we will start by making the Anemone, Tulip, Clematis, Cosmos, and Sweet Pea. These five flowers will give us the basics while using the three types of crepe paper. We will then make the peony, hypericum, smokebush, and lavender. In the class, I suggest you make at least one stem for each or three of each.
Once we have made the nine flowers and stems, I will do a bonus lesson on making silver dollar eucalyptus, then teach you how to make an asymmetrical wreath with this greenery and three pink cosmos flowers.
In the next lesson, I will show you how to make a simple potted flowering plant using three pink lemonade tulips.
For our final lesson, I will show you how to make a simple hand-tied arrangement with one of each of the stems and three lavender stems.
Our final bouquet lesson will introduce how to create a loose freeform style arrangement using three of each stem and nine lavender stems.
This arrangement will look gorgeous on the back side as well.

Good afternoon. I have watched the first video but it says In Progress and will not let me go to the next video. I saw a comment from someone else with the same issue. I looked for that button to mark complete under the video, but it is not there. Need some help. Thank you so much.
Hello Alisann! It looks like you were able to move to the next lesson. Let me know if you need any other assistance. 🙂
Where do I sign up for this June class?
You are automatically signed up since you are a Craft Circle member! Enjoy!!
Very interesting and informative. Loved itall
Yay!!
Amazing how much there is to learn
So much fun! 🙂
Very enjoyable. Learnt a lot
So good to hear!
Hi , I just watched A Beginners guide to crepe paper. it is telling me I did not watch the whole episode. I watched 14.15 minutes, then it cut off and will not let move on to the second video. I would appreciate the help Thank you
You can click the “mark complete” button at the bottom of the post under all of the photos and it should let you move to the next video.
no matter how long I have been making crepe flowers, back to basics is always a must!!
I love that! I am the same way. 🙂
So interesting! I remember taking the original course, but this added information about the crepe paper material sold me on the German product. Now I understand why it is so much better.
Yes! I like to share everything I research. lol
I can not wait for this beautiful class with Lia and company. So excited about learning new techniques to making more beautiful flowers. Now that I have some new knowledge after taking Lia’s recent Master class on a Beginner’s Guide to arranging flowers I am ready to put them into practice in this class.
see you in this Master Class. I can’t wait, to create, with all of you.
Yay!!! I am so happy you are here for this class too!!
ME GUSTARIA QUE LOS VIDEOS SE PUDIERAN TRADUCIR EN ESPAÑOL YA QUE NO SE MUCHO INBLES
We will see if that is possible.
So I was just wondering why it says that I have not completed this course like the Vol one. I did earn my certificate of completion for this Master Class when it opened the first time?
When we restart the class for another round, it will reset. We have the list of those who completed it. 🙂
where is the pink cosmos svg?
It is right there with all of the others. 😉
Lia, Do you by any chance have a svg and video for the General Sikorski Clematis? I tried finding it but was not able to.
Hi Karen. I make this flower along with the first five in the lessons. Each video is marked in the timestamp.
ESTOY INSCRITA DESDE HACE TIEMPO PERO NO PUEDO SEGUIR MUCHAS COSAS DE LAS QUE SE HACEN PORQUE ESTAN EN INGLES, SOBRE TODO LOS VIDEOS, Y ALGUNOS SE PUEDEN TRADUCIR PERO OTROS NO, COMO POR EJEMPLO LA LECCION 1.
Thank you for your feedback. I am having Brittany take a look and see if we can add a Spanish caption to this course. We will keep you posted.
We added some translations to the first three videos. Can you let us know if that is helpful? They might not be fully accurate, but at least give better direction. 🙂
Hey Lia, I have completed Lesson one about crepe paper but website says it is still in progress and won’t let me go to Lesson Two. Help!

Under the video, there will be a button that allows you to click to complete the lesson. If there are a few seconds left on the video you have to manually click that to move to the next lesson. Hope that helps. 😉
I am finally filnished clutting. The only problem I had was my rotary blade crapping out and I had to drive 15 miles to get another. I picked up the last two Michaels had. Wichita KS had really poor shopping. Got going and the had to go get new mats but that was closer. I’m writing a book, sorry. Just FYI, the petal 3 on the sweet pea gave me a lot of trouble, I this the stem might to be a little wider because I kept losing the stems. I finally cut them by hand . I expect to catch up on the class this weekend. Thanks for all your hard work just getting this class ready and the awesome presentation. Many kudos.
I love hearing about your process! The sweet peas are quite delicate. I did not have trouble cutting them, but a wider stem at the base of each petal would not hurt. Happy you are enjoying the class!
Is it possible for someone to list off each color of the crepe paper each flower is. I am trying to figure exactly what colors I need. I know the packs crepe paper are in the supply list. But I didn’t see which specific colors are being used. If I missed that detail please let me know.
Yes, I you go to the next lesson, “Tools & Materials”. I have a paragraph called “Colors Used in This Class”. It is under the full tools and materials list below the video.
I finally found that info on the PDF of the flower patterns.
Oh good! That is why I like to keep a printed/uncut set in my binder. I literally reference them every day. 😉
Would you please advise what materials you use for the asymmetrical cosmos wreath so I can be sure to have them. This is the piece I am most interested in making from the class. It looks like extra-fine blush for the flowers and buds. What about the centers (they look softer than chiffon and nectarine)? Also for the eucalyptus. Thank you so much.
The only additional material you will need is the grapevine wreath. For this wreath will want to make three additional cosmos flowers in any color you like. I used the extra-fine coral for my wreath. I did use nectaring and chiffon for my centers, but the photos might look a bit light. I will have the template and teach how to make the eucalyptus leaves during that class.
That was very interesting! Thank you for the history lesson on crepe paper.
It is so fun to know these things! I feel it adds depth to the humble crepe paper. lol
i am so excited for this class . i am a felt floral crafter , and will get my inspiration from crepe paper flowers . Wish something like this kind a class for felt florist also . Thank You for making our beginning of the new year more exciting. Cant wait
We have been thinking about making a felt flower class. I will put in your vote!
Please put in a vote from me for a Master Class on felt floral! I love working with felt!
Done!!
What a great way to start 2023! I am anxiously waiting for tomorrow morning.
Yes, see you on Monday!
Great information about crepe paper
Glad you enjoyed it. 😉
I can’t wait to start. Hope I can keep up with the lessons around my busy schedule. The first flowers I made were from cardstock. I made a bouquet of different shades of pink/red and accented using pastel chalks. Some artificial greenery and everyone loved them in my kitchen. I know I probably don’t have everything but I have been collecting supplies and a bunch of your crepe paper so I can make better flowers. The cardstock just looked too heavy and not delicate enough. I have seen your designs on Pinterest and couldn’t wait to make my own.
Know that you can just make one flower from each lesson which will really help on keeping up. 🙂
I need to engrave this on my brain! I always think I can do it all, but my rheumatoid arthritis and other disabilities makes that virtually impossible. But I just know I can keep up with ONE each. Thanks for the reminder.
Yes, I learned from the last master class. Keep it simple for everyone! 😉
I LOVE LOVE the master class took the first one three times. It encourages me to do a very good job. I have flowers for my friends when I need them and for Doctors, nurses, family and any occasion or just because. Can’t wait. 🥰🙃
I love hearing this!! See you in a few weeks! 😉
How do I order tools and materials
In the next lesson, you will see the tools and materials list under the video. All of those items have links and you can just click on the text to take you to our shop where you can purchase them.
Hi Lia. I am watching the first video, 7 things you’ll want to know about crepe paper. The video only plays to the point where you talk about the peony, iris and magnolia. The video then stops mid sentence about the magnolia leaf. Is there another video? I can’t seem to find the continuation. The video is only 14 minutes long.
Yes. We shortened it for this class as the rest went over materials we no longer use. You can see the full (but no longer most current) version of this in our Craft Academy.
After all the master classes are done will we be able to go back and watch them again?
You have a few options. You can watch the videos as many times through the month of January, you can retake the class again (we will run it 3x year), or you can buy full access and own the class.
Looking forward to Volume two. Making crepe paper flowers has been not only a hobby, but a passion as well for me.
So happy to see you in the next class!
So excited for this next Masterclass! The last one changed my life…thank you!
Thanks for sharing that, Diana! We are so happy to have you here.
Thanks for creating more beautiful flowers. Can’t wait to make them.
This a such a pretty group of flowers. I love how they look together.
I’m very happy excited to get started!
Just a few weeks! Yay!
SO EXCITED!!!!
So happy you are here!
