Lia Griffith is an internationally renowned handcrafted lifestyle designer, author and visionary. After realizing the demand for her unique paper flower designs, Lia launched her DIY site in the Spring of 2013. Offering templates and tutorial for handmade projects in paper, felt, fabric, leather and more, Lia soon saw her website flourish. With her team, she now inspires millions worldwide to reconnect with their creativity every day.

“I believe that creativity lives in everyone!”

Lia’s designs and tutorials for a handcrafted life are featured in more than 200 publications to include The Oprah Magazine, Mollie Makes, Better Homes & Gardens and The Knot to name a few. Her work has featured on many creative sites and blogs including Real SimpleWest Elm, Apartment Therapy, Country Living, Design SpongeGood Housekeeping and House Beautiful. Lia is regularly invited to share her knowledge of TV and has appeared on The Today Show and Hallmark Home & Family as well as many local network channels across the United States.

Lia began teaching through videos by working with on some of the largest craft channels and with that experience developed a You Tube channel from her in-house video production studio. This channel offers tutorial, tips and tricks videos as well as live events.

Lia and team began developing a craft materials line to give her audience access to her favorite materials. She partnered with German manufacturer Werola to create an exquisite collection of crepe papers for the growing community of flower artists. The design team developed a growing collection of paper flower kits in both crepe and frosted papers as well as other paper flower making materials. Lia partnered with Fiskars to curate a set of paper crafting tools.

Lia’s creative career path to date has helped to shape what she does today. Her experience in restaurant and retail design developed her flair for interior design, her children’s clothing line influenced her love and passion for pattern and fabric, her flower boutique shaped her knowledge of floral design and understanding of flower anatomy to recreate in paper. As Creative Director at a wedding stationery company, Lia developed and shared her very first paper rose for readers to make at home. Witnessing the success of her paper flower tutorials was proof that Lia had something special, and so it became her mission to teach, inspire and reignite creativity in others. Lia firmly believes that everyone can be creative.

In recent years Lia has garnered praise for her stunning Papier Couture collection – a portfolio of 65 paper dresses which appeared on the runway and in art galleries. Lia also won the Scotch Brand Most Gifted Wrapper contest in New York City in 2012. Take a peek at some of Lia’s press features here.

Lia’s greatest loves are her daughter Emily, her dog Enzo and traveling in Europe. She adores a cozy, comfy (and drop dead gorgeous) living space and is thoroughly enjoying being her age, with all the experience and wisdom it brings. When she’s not sharing her DIY knowledge, Lia gets a kick out of making a gourmet spread for friends and family and especially loves to cook and bake yummy vegan and gluten free goodies.
