Become a MemberWe just added a new macrame cord color to the shop and couldn’t wait to use it for this month’s collection. Designed by Meagan, this macrame vegetable basket is the perfect addition to your kitchen countertop. Plus you can easily make it bigger if you want more room for storing fruits and veggies (see our crafting tip below for how to do this!).
To get started, check out our tools and materials list below. Then download our photo tutorial to learn how to make your own version of this basket.
The garden fresh macrame project
Our macrame vegetable basket is an easy craft project for all skill levels. Although it’s a bit time-consuming, the knots and techniques are very simple to follow. If you don’t use it for your own fruits and veggies, you could always make it for your kid along with some of our favorite felt foods.
Another option is to make your macrame vegetable basket in a different color. We linked the color we used below, or you can see all of our macrame cord colors here.
Basket size: 9in. wide X 4.5in. tall
Skill level: Beginner
Knots used: Square Knot, Alternating Square Knot Pattern, and Alternating V Pattern. If you want extra guidance on these macrame knots, just click each of the links for video tutorials.
Crafting tip: To make this macrame garden basket taller, just add more rows of square knots. To make it wider, increase the number of ropes used when starting your basket.
