Whether you’re stitching alongside little helpers or looking for a creative escape of your own, these beginner-level Felt Mini Valentine’s Day Bears are the perfect solution. Simple shapes and basic stitches also make this an ideal project for any crafty kiddos looking for a bit of embroidery practice. And while we do recommend a cutting machine, detail scissors will get the job done as well. New to crafting felt animal stuffies and want to learn more? Take our mini-course, 8 Easy Steps to Create Any Felt Stuffie.
We decided on shades of brown with a pop of crimson hearts for our Felt Mini Valentine’s Day Bears. However, this is a great project for making fun artistic choices that suit your style, spirit, and vibe. One of the joys of working with felt is how well it lends itself to imagination. Go wild with different colors or bold additions such as sequins, gemstones, or fabric markers. After all, no two bears will ever be exactly alike, and that’s part of the magic!
When you're finished, each bear is small enough to tuck into a pocket, gift bag, or Valentine’s basket, making them perfect for sharing. You can also pair them with our Cardstock Matchbox Valentines for a truly one-of-a-kind gift that feels thoughtful, warm, and just a little bit nostalgic.
Finally, once complete, please remember to share your finished project with us. Post your Felt Mini Valentine’s Day Bears with the hashtag #MadeWithLia, and in our crafters’ community — we can’t wait to see what you create!

Leave a Commenthello Lia, I cannot find the pattern template and instructions so as I can make the Felt Mini Valentine’s Day Bears – can you help me by emailing the pattern and instructions to me to make them – than you so much, Patricia x
Hello Patricia. All these templates are in the right-hand column. You can now purchase projects individually without a membership.
I saw the previous question and I had the same question. So, I used the link and downloaded the Tutorial and it cost me another project. I don’t need the Christmas Bear. I just needed the tutorial so I could complete the Valentine”s Day Bears. Is it possible to get back the project I used up by using the link you posted?
Hi Lisa. I just refunded the project. Let me know if there are any issues. Thanks for pointing out this project issue too. It is an older project and could use an update. I did add the tutorial for the Christmas bear into the downloads though.
Thank you!!
You are so welcome!!
Good afternoon, I just became a member and I am enjoying the projects, but I did not see the tutorial on how to make the little bears. Could you help me with that? Thanks!
Welcome! There’s a link in the post to this post with the tutorial: https://liagriffith.com/felt-christmas-bear-ornament/
I know this is a horrible time of year to ask this… but when you have a chance, can you upload the SVG for this little guy & girl? Thank you, in advance!
The SVG cut file has been added 🙂
I love you guys!
Back at you 🙂
Lia,
They are adorable. Thank you!
Beijo!
Thank you Sue, I am so glad you like them! 🙂
Lia, I joined in December when I found your pine cone elf project and wanted to do them with my daughter’s friends for her holiday party. The kids all had a blast making those for 2+ hours straight. Saturday we’re having the same group do your felt envelopes and stuffed hearts and washi tape heart boxes for v-day. Can’t wait! This bear came out so cute and is my son’s Valentine from me. For my daughter I combined your stuffed fox and cute fox hair clip face and added a heart – super cute too. Joining as a member has made my last few months so fun. Felt is my favorite. Love your projects and can’t wait to see what else you come up with this year!! Thanks!!
Thank you so much for this wonderful comment Molly!!! I am so thrilled to hear you are enjoying the projects! One of my main goals in creating all these projects is to be able to provide activities for parents to do with their kids, and I am so glad that you are able to do so. Feel free to send me photos of your crafts to hello@liagriffith.com so I can share them on my Facebook page! I hope you have a wonderful weekend crafting 🙂
I will! Forgot to mention that my girl (11) used your stuffed kitty patterns to make gifts for her cat-loving aunts -struggled versions of their cats :). I’ll send you some pics. SO fun!!
Stuffed versions 🙂
We need to see the photos! Adorable!!!!
Such a darling little project not only for V-day! My daughter is begging me to help her make some with her!I added this pattern to my round up of 10 things to sew for Valentine’s Day! See it here: http://www.diy-crush.com/blog/10-loveable-valentines-sewing-diys/
Wonderful, thank you so much!!
What color felts did you use for the two bears – one looks lighter than the other. They are darling!!!
I believe the colors were called Latte and Castle!
What is your secret for cutting great circles from felt? I love this project but after struggling to make decent looking circles for the pinecone owl project, I’m worried about frustrating myself all over again. Thank you!
Sometimes it can be tough cutting out those little bits! I would say to rotate the material while you cut (felt in this case), and not the scissors. Sometimes it’s also easier to cut the felt free-hand, instead of trying to cut it stacked on top of the template. I hope this helps!!
Love your things!!! Hate that I can’t get them to download. The valentine cards goes straight to Pinterest and the felt valentine bears, after 5 attempts , keeps saying download failed. Any suggestions to what I might try ?
Sorry about the trouble. Are you clicking directly on the image, if so it will take you to Pinterest. There is a banner towards the bottom of the post that takes you to the download.
