There is nothing quite like a crisp white bouquet with vibrant green foliage. One of my favorite simple home decor accents is creating a paper bouquet like these crepe paper calla lilies. A bright white and green color combination can bring light to any dreary space. When I see them I almost get the urge to smell them even though I know they are paper! One of my favorite white flowers is the gardenia. They are fragrant and gorgeous and always remind me of summertime. I have posted DIY gardenias made from both crepe paper and metallic paper in the past, but I decided to do a 2016 redux to add some new leaves plus an SVG file for those who are using a cutting machine! Here is my updated paper gardenia template to use for summer bouquets, home decor accents, and gift toppers.
Gardenias have beautiful soft petals with tight, almost bud-like centers. To achieve this realistic look, I created buds that can be built out in any way to represent the different stages of blooming. Make your own paper gardenia bunch by downloading the template below. Use the SVG file if you are using a cutting machine or the PDF version if you are cutting by hand. You will also find the pretty metallic papers that I used for my bouquet in the Shop this Project section! Follow the photo tutorial here to put your gardenias together. Members can also download the printable instructions below. If you are creating a paper gardenia bouquet, I would recommend mixing a variety of buds with different sizes of blooms for some beautiful depth. You will also find that there are two sizes of leaves available in the template to add to your bouquet. Of course, these flowers are also great to use as gift toppers or to decorate a table setting. If you are hosting a Mother’s Day brunch or bridal shower, paper gardenia accents provide an elegant and feminine touch. Because gardenias are delicate white flowers, paper gardenia blooms are also wonderful for adorning wedding cakes. There are so many ways to tailor the bloom to your special event or purpose!
