Holiday Greetings
Handmade cards are a wonderful way to spread some holiday cheer to your loved ones. Christmas cards have a rich history in holiday tradition. Though not as common in the digital age, we think nothing says “Happy Holidays” like a handcrafted work of art. We’ve created a gorgeous set of papercut Christmas greeting cards that are as fun to create as they are to send! Choose from two sets of downloadable templates — either SVG or PDF. Both sets feature two designs — “Happy Holidays” and “Peace” — in addition to envelopes. Download the SVG version if you’ll be cutting with a cutting machine or the PDFs if you’ll be cutting by hand. If cutting by hand, we’d recommend using an X-Acto blade for finer precision in the intricate designs. We taped a piece of copper metallic paper to the inside of the card so the design really pops!

We used forest green and burgundy cardstock for our cards and a metallic paper for our envelopes. However, feel free to get creative with paper of your own choosing! Just make sure all of your paper is 12×12″ in size. Use a bonefolder for creating ultra-crisp edges on all of your cards and envelopes.

A sharp fine-point blade. 🙂
What glue would you recommend? I’m having trouble with that. I used spray tacky glue but it’s hard to get a uniform coat without being too much or too little. Additionally, am I doing something wrong – I’ve cut the cards since the insert is a bit smaller than the card.
I like the Tombow permanent roller tape for paper.
I love them but any that say “Merry Christmas”?
At this point, the file does not offer that option; however, you can hide the text layers and add your own words in the design space. We will have more papercut cards coming next year, and I will ask for a Merry Christmas to be put onto the list. 🙂
How do I get a crisp fold? Can I use the Cricut scoring tool and how? Or, could you include that step in directions. Thanks.
Hi Linda! We just updated the SVG file to include a score line in the middle of the card, so you can use your scoring tool!
For some reason I cannot seem to upload the SVG for the Christmas Cards to Design Space.. It says it is not a valid file. I am using the correct one {SVG). Thank-you for your help!

Is this tutorial missing instructions, or is it hooked up with another tutorial that I don’t see. I am not sure how to get the color inside the card? Is it tissue paper glued in, or just placed in?
Hi Carol, we don’t have instructions for this card. The color inside is just a piece of copper paper cut a bit smaller than the card (about 4.75×6.75″), and taped to the backside of the papercut cover.
