We have been immersed in gorgeously swoon-worthy Valentine crafts this month – and why not? We are literally days away from Feb 14th! Todays project is a simple felt craft that’s perfect for those who want to gift a little something personal without breaking the bank. Using good quality felts in fuchsia, magenta, flamingo and red we created a bundle of little felt hearts with contrasting blanket stitching and loops for hanging. This is a super-simple DIY project that is perfect for seasoned makers as well as young beginners.

Begin by downloading our heart pattern, materials list and tutorial below. Gather your materials, cut the pattern out on your felt and follow our simple step-by-step tutorial to assemble the felt hearts. As well as the felt and embroidery floss you will need a little stuffing to turn your felt hearts into cute little stuffies. Feel free to get even more creative and maybe consider embroidering an initial on the felt before you assemble, make a few and string them together to make a garland or skip the loop and add a pin at the back to turn this cute little felt heart into a pretty wearable brooch – how sweet!

Do you use the iron on like fabric or apply it to the felt?

  You can add the glitter HTV to the felt and then use it the same as any other felt.

  Haha! So glad you like them! For the glittery hearts, I didn’t actually use real glitter. So it was wonderfully mess-free! For the glitter, I started with a white felt, and then added a glitter gold iron-on onto the felt. Easy and beautiful! Good luck!

oh my heavens, these are so cute and simple. Love sweet look of them in varied colors, using blanket stitch, gives home made look. Your studio must have lots of colors of felt in it,hearts you made look like good quality felt, not flimsy squares as at some stores.
Good project to do on snowy weekend. If it ever starts snowing that is. Weather programs have been alerting people to be careful, stay home off streets if possible. Between filling storage boxes with stuff (to organize) and making some hearts will keep me quite busy, love a good project like that. Monday is supposed to be heavy snowing/colder after snowing today and Sunday, right now just looks like will snow at any moment. Hope you’re having great weekend. Now I need to get busy.
