I have this thing for pretty matchboxes. Even the simplest things deserve something pretty to wear, right? When I had my flower & gift shop many years ago, I would stay stocked with any matchbox printed with lovely messages or encased in metal covers. So why not DIY and print some pretty box covers onto label paper? I started with the bulk pack of Diamond matchboxes that you can find at the grocery store. This set of labels is designed with the trendy chalkboard style design and the monograms are completely customizable when you open your PDF. You will need to upload this free font, Museo Slab onto your computer for the monogram. After you update your monogram, print the template onto a full sheet of label paper. You can find these at your office supply store. Make sure to print at full size or the labels will be too small for the boxes. Trim the chalkboard rectangles with scissors and adhere one to each side of your matchbox. There you have it. . . pretty matchboxes! These are great to have around the house, to give as a personalized gift with a lovely candle, or to use on the tables of your party or wedding for guests to light the candles at dusk. So let your crafty light shine and label-up your matchboxes today! ~ Lia

I have my husbands birthday that I would love to be able to customize these, the way the Personalized Wedding Matchbox Favors can be done. Is there a way to open the PDF on these to do so?
Thank you!
Hi Shawna, the only editable part of these labels are the monograms (it fits both numbers or a letter!)
Hi Lia!
Is there any way the background color on the labels can be changed? They would be perfect for our wedding favors and we can’t seem to find any in our primary color- Emerald. They would look amazing!
No unfortunately not:( That would be a whole new design. Emerald green is very pretty though, maybe we will incorporate that color in future wedding posts.
Hi! I am looking to purchase this, but on etsy there is only the one for the wedding/marriage. My intention is to use this for a 30th birthday party! Please let me know if you can sell this again!
There is a pdf file at the bottom of this post. Were you looking for a different design?

OMG thanks for clarifying that you print it on normal white label paper! For some of us that are new to DIY it wasn’t obvious – I won’t tell you what I went through before I finally read this comment
Oh no! Maybe I should state that in the post too. 😉 Glad you found the comment response.

Is one able to edit all the designs or just the two? I have downloaded Monogram Font however I can only edit the two middle rows.
Thanks!
Evy

Do! I would love to see them. 🙂
What label is used there are several different styles?
Hi Susan. These were all printed onto one sheet. You can see it if you open the PDF how they are laid out. I used a full sheet label and trimmed to size.

Thanks Robin. Glad you like them!
Thank you!
Glad you like!
These are just what I need. I have a duct tape covered matchbox in my bathroom (for air freshener!) and I’ve refilled and used the poor little box so much that the striking strip has completely worn down. Now I can print out these fabulous labels and affix them to a brand new box.
Ha! That is great Rachel. I didn’t even thing about these for bathroom matches. Great idea.
Lia,
Where can I find the chalkboard labels? And how do you have the different frames to the chalk board labels? Do you download them or are they part of the already printed label?
Thanks.
Hey Maria. I made it really easy for you and included the chalkboard print onto the PDF. All you need to do is download it (download and install the font too. . . link in post), open the PDF, change the initials to yours and print it onto a white full sheet label paper. That’s it!

Love them!!!

These are fantastic! I love the idea of giving these as gifts with candles or anything else. So pretty!
I’m happy you like them Lisa!
My son is always “borrowing” my matches so I think I need to label some up just for me! So annoying when you want to light a candle and there’s no matches.
Yes, I know that “borrow” trick from my daughter. lol
the personalization seems off center – hopefully this will get fixed because I am SO excited to try these.
Hi Sharon, make sure you have the font installed. There is a link for in the post. The font replacement is why it looks off center.
oh how i love these-THANK YOU Lia : >D
Yay! So happy to hear.
Love these! Thank you!!!
You are welcome. I am seeing matchboxes with P monograms in your future. 😉
