Become a MemberOur illustrator Krista loves to spend most of her days designing little characters. She’s been known to go one step further and give them names, ages and even a back story – she’s crazy nuts and we love her for that. Today’s post sees us sharing some of Krista’s adorable safari animal characters as part of a 12 month set of iron-on illustrations for infant onesies. We love to see new moms post their monthly baby pictures with a numbered outfit referring to age so we think this project would make the most amazing gift for a new baby. We designed the set to work perfectly for either a boy or girl baby making teal the main color. For the girls, we just add a cute pink bow into the head, and we are set. Each number represents the age of the baby in months and can be ironed on to the correct size of baby romper or little t-shirt onesie. The animal characters are insanely cute and super fun making this perfect for the teeny tiny members of the family. You will find the printable PDF files for all 12 numbers and all 12 cute characters at the end of this post. Simply print on your ink jet printer using iron-on transfer paper and trim the excess paper from around the little animals. Remember that the image will print backwards to reveal the number correctly. Follow the instructions on the iron-on package to get the best results. We found all 12 so easy to make and the colors look bright and clear. The rompers can we washed at a cool setting and air dried – to keep the colors bright, I like to air dry then fluff in the dryer to add a little softness. Have fun and remember to share pics if you make these for a little one in your life. I will share a secret here too. . . right now we are designing a first year birthday party kit to match this theme. How adorable will that be? Enjoy! ~ Lia

Hello, These are not available anymore, Is there a way I can get them?
Thank you
We just updated the post with the download! Sorry about that!
Too cute!!! Love the idea of being able to make lots of gifts, one or the entire set. I can’t decide which one is my favorite. Maybe that sweet elephant!
🙂
I am,of course, disappointed to have to pay for characters for onesies but can sure understand why, sure are adorable. What an incredible gift to make for new baby/Mom, shower gift.
When our oldest son’s wife had baby I stenciled some cute things on his onesies and on paper wrapped them with. Sure enjoyed making them.
I made up some doggie characters few years ago, made up stories for them, drew in their features. Never did anything with them, should make some more and see what happens. I used craft kraft paper to give them texture and body. Made special little gift bags for them also. Had gift bag pattern so fooled with it for while til could get size wanted to hold maybe 4-6 little cards.
To me being creative is one of biggest joys of my life. Besides our family and friends that is.
Hope you have wonderful week, look forward always to seeing what will be next. I’m working on making camellias now, using other kinds of papers as can’t afford beautiful metallic papers you use, maybe someday. Going to order some of their ink jet vellum papers, those are more affordable for me. Want to print out those luscious Spring lanterns.
I understand…but even a starving artist needs to eat (and pay my staff) You should definately expand on your doggie characters (I love dogs) and you never know what it might turn into. I am sure your family loved them.
