We love playing with stamps here at Lia Griffith HQ and fell in love with these little sentiment stamps by Simon Says Stamp over the weekend. We wanted to do something a little different with them and we came up with the idea of creating these simple paper flowers with the sweet little sentiments stamped onto the paper before we assembled them. With the words “hugs”, “so very awesome”, “feel better” and “thanks a bunch” these DIY gift toppers would be great for friends, family, teacher appreciation gifts, birthdays, baby showers, mother’s day or just to give as a gift themselves – they’re just so pretty!
You can find the tutorial for the paper ranunculus flower here and the PDF pattern at the foot of this page. Simon Says Stamp has literally hundreds of great stamps online and a wonderful selection of colored inks as well. We used their clear stamps which are great for getting your print in the right position on your paper. If you want to use them as a gift topper we suggest gluing a little wooden clip to the bottom of your flower and attaching it to the ribbon or twine of your gift. Happy gift giving! And as always, enjoy! ~ Lia

Great article Lia. I would love to make them as beautiful as you and also use them as attachments in gift boxes.
It is a unique and creative idea.

Thank you so much!!!
Thank You, Lia! This one will be a gift topper for Grandma’s birthday present. She will be 100 years old this Saturday! I am off to get the little wooden clips. (Mini clothes pins, right?)
Yes mini clothes pins. Give you grandma a hug from me!
So pretty! I’ll certainly try this. You did, however, post the directions for the crepe paper ranunculus. Did you mean to reference the printer paper ranunculus which was posted a couple of years ago?
Thanks for all of your great ideas.
yes that is what I meant:) Thanks for letting me know, I have updated the link!
