As featured in our Pacific Islands bouquet for Cricut, this tropical greenery will wow you! Using the all-new Cricut Maker, we were able to cut not only paper, but also felt and leather to create these lush leaves. We’re head over heels for this new machine… Learn more and see the full bouquet series here. Simply download our SVG cut files and use your Cricut Maker cutting machine to craft. Take a trip to Pacific Island paradise with this project today!
Tips
If you don’t have access to the latest cutting machine, you can certainly use our PDF templates and scissors, though it will take you a bit more time. To give your bouquet more shape and volume, back your felt and leather leaves with paper for stability, then glue floral wire in between using a low-temp hot glue gun.
Sources
We used a wide assortment of paper, felt and leather for this project. For our paper, we used an assortment from My Mind’s Eye Green Tones Variety Pack. As for felt, we used Benzie Design’s Moss, Meadow and Evergreen. In terms of wire, we used 16 and 18-gauge floral wire which you can find here. And lastly, we found our leather at our local leather store and used a green craft paint to tint accordingly.

I’ve tried over and over again and can’t get the svg.
Hi Nancy, the SVG will be downloaded onto your computer, and it might not alert you to where it is putting the file. Here is a video that might help: https://liagriffith.com/craft-academy/a-crafters-guide-to-the-cricut-maker/lessons/1-lia-griffith-files-for-the-cricut/
How do I make the leaves bigger, as shown in photo?
You can resize the leaves to whatever size you like in design space, the leaves in the photos were cut using a 12×24 inch mat and large sheets of card stock that can be found at your local craft store!
Hi! I printed the large leaves out of cardstock, but I’m not sure how far up the 18 gauge wire needs to go on the leave? It’s not clear from the photos how the leaves (especially those in the back) were placed so they could stand vertically like that.
Hi Christina,
We would recommend the wire to go about 3/4 of the way up the leaf for maximum stability. 🙂
Sadly I can’t make this work. I have downloaded it but when I upload it into design space it shows a picture as uploaded but when I go to insert image the layer comes up but its empty. I have tried it 3 times now and i keep getting the same result
Oh no! I just tested the file and am not having any problems uploading and cutting. Can you send a screenshot of what you’re seeing to hello@liagriffith.com?
I cant open none of the files with my Silhouette Cameo. Please help and advice, Thank you.
Hi, the SVG files will need to be converted to Studio files in order to use them with your Silhouette. Silhouette’s customer service should be able to help you with this!
Still no cut file
I just double-checked and the SVG file download is working correctly.
So clever to back the felt with paper!
🙂
I’m so glad to see these posts–I thought it was me!!!!!
