The sun has been dancing its way through our city this week and we’ve had the tropics on our mind. If you have been following our Tropical Mother’s Day Series, you probably already know how much we love tropical designs for the warmer months! We’ve been giving you all the pieces you need to create a tropical Mother’s Day celebration, like printable invitations, menus, art prints and even a tropical candle gift idea. To round it all out, we designed this pretty Mother’s Day petal card using the same pretty watercoloring from our designer Laurel Autumn.
Printing Instructions
Because a petal card includes the greeting card and envelope all in one, we wanted to print different patterns on each side for variety. For this we used our PIXMA TS8020 by Canon so that we could easily print double sided using their rear tray. Instead of replacing our regular printer paper with cardstock in the front cassette, we loaded a single piece of cardstock in the back and printed the card. After it prints, flip the page and load it back into the rear tray to print the botanical pattern on the opposite side. When you are loading it back into the tray to print double sided, make sure that the surface you want printed on is facing toward you (the blank side up).
Matching Stickers
Our download below also includes a sheet of sticker designs that you can use to seal the card. The rear tray of the printer is great for printing individual sheets of specialty paper, so just like we did with the cardstock, we loaded a page of full sheet label paper and printed the circular stickers. There are four sticker designs and each has a 2″ or 2.5″ option. You can trim these individually or use a punch to cut them out. When folding your Mother’s Day petal card, make each tab overlap clockwise or counter-clockwise, then pick your favorite sticker to place on top.
