There’s a certain magic in creating something beautiful with your hands, right? And when that creation is meant as a gift, it carries an extra layer of love and sentiment. Giving an orchid as a gift can symbolize thoughtfulness, respect, and admiration. It suggests that you see them as someone special and rare. It’s a lasting symbol of care and affection. Unlike real flowers that eventually fade, this handcrafted orchid will remain vibrant, a constant reminder of your thoughtfulness.
In this live workshop, we’ll share tips and tricks for bringing these delicate blooms to life. You’ll learn how to work with the exquisite double-sided German crepe paper to create three stunning orchid flowers and five elegant buds that gracefully fade into a soft, pale green. We’ll even show you how a touch of marker coloring can add incredible detail and realism to the heart of each flower.
The Joy of a Crafternoon: Connecting Through Creativity
What makes this workshop even more special is the opportunity to share the joy of crafting. Invite a friend or family member to join you for a peaceful afternoon of creation. Crafting together is a beautiful way to create lasting memories – and what better way to do that than by making a heartfelt gift?
A Gift for Every Special Person (Including You!)
Whether you’re looking for a unique and meaningful Mother’s Day gift, a thoughtful present for a dear friend, or simply want to treat yourself to a beautiful handmade creation, this crepe paper orchid plant is the perfect project. It’s a gift that brings lasting beauty and a touch of handcrafted charm to any space.
Join Emily and me for this special live video workshop, and let’s create something beautiful together! We can’t wait to share our love for crafting with you and help you create a gift that will bloom forever in the heart of someone special.
We look forward to crafting with you!

I was very excited to see one of your crepe paper flowers being done. I felt it was very unorganized. Parts were not included in the files. I watched the class over and over. Love your flowers but want to know if I join are the directions more clear? Thank you.
Hi Shirley. You are right. That was a tough video for me on Friday. I was a bit off my game. I encourage you to watch a few more of our free videos and see what you think. We have quite a few on our YouTube channel that you can check out. I am also making a photo tutorial for this class. I am here to answer any questions for you. 🙂
PDF won’t download for the templets
Look in your computer’s downloads folder. When you click the link, it automatically sends your file there.
You used only 5 pieces in making the flower two big ones two medium and one small
Am I right
I used the two large side ones, then three of the same size, one on the top between the two larger petals and two under the large petals. I am working on the photo tutorial this week.
I’d like to do the class today but am at work. Is there a replay?
Yes! There will be a replay after the live.
I don’t have a cutting machine and prefer to cut by hand. Is there a way I can do that?
I can open one pdf with the orchid and leaves in one size only.
Thanks
Yes, you can cut by hand, and the PDF has all the shapes you need. Note that the quantity is marked on the template for how many of each to cut and how many of that flower or bud for the full stem.
Hello, I live in Adelaide Australia can you tell me what time the Orchid Workshop will be on in my country Please
It will be 4:30 am on Saturday. You can watch the replay. 🙂
Hello, I couldn’t get the svg to download. Do you have any suggestions? The pdf came through but the svg wouldn’t open. Thanks
You will need to open it using your cutting machine software. In the software, just click on upload file, and the SVG will be in the correct format.
Cut my pieces today and can’t wait for Friday! It’ll be my first orchid. Hopefully turns out well enough that I can give it to my mom for mother’s day 😊
Yay! See you on Friday!
Thank you! Also — on the PDF, everything seems to be labeled “medium orchid” even though they are different sizes. Should one set be labeled large and one set medium? I cut them out as cardstock templates and am so confused! Ha ha!
Oh goodness. Too many balls in the air. lol. I will fix it to the LARGE orchid size too.
It is fixed now!
Hi Lia! The brush marker and paint marker colors in the materials list on the right are blank. Can we find out what those specific colors are, please? 🙂
Whoops! They are there now. 🙂
I loved it, I would like to know the name of the cream paint they use
I used markers to add color to the centers. You can find the full supply list in the right column.
You guys just keep getting better and better! Happy Mother’s Day to you all.
Thank you, Frances! We are learning right along with you. 🙂
what elements do you use for the planter aside from the pot?
I filled the pot with a soft foam ball, then covered it with moss. You can use pebbles if you prefer.
My daughter loves orchids but can’t keep a real one alive. So this is the perfect Mother’s Day gift . Thanks for the file.
Yes! I hope you can join us for the workshop! Maybe even invite her to join you and make one for you as well. 🙂
