Washi Tape Shadow Box to Display Your Found Treasures
Thursday night my oldest sister arrived from Washington for a few days of creative girl time. After giving her a tour of my favorite shops in the Sellwood neighborhood on Friday, we settled down at the dining room table for an evening of creative exploring. This is what led to me creating a washi tape shadow box!
Washi tape is so much fun to play around with. And it is an easy way to personalize everyday objects and crafts! If you want some more washi tape ideas, make sure to check out my top 10 washi tape projects. Now, on to the creative process for today’s DIY project…
Here’s how it all started. My Friday outing with my sister included going to Collage craft supply store, where I picked up six new rolls of washi tape from their vast selection to add to my collection of greens, blues, and teals. With my sister practicing her zen tangle (she creates amazing frameable “doodles”), I began to “doodle” with the washi tape. A few hours later my creative play became a piece of art, and I knew it was something I wanted to share with you today. So I created a second piece to share my step-by-step crafting process for this washi tape shadow bow!
This project is so fun and simple. It is something you could do with kids. Though I show you how to create this washi tape shadow box with diagonal stripes, you can certainly create it in your own style!
Below is a photo tutorial of my process. I started with an array of washi tape and the Ikea Ribba shadow box frame. I then added some of my favorite shells and corals into my shadow boxes. Go gather the little treasures you would like to display. . . and washi tape doodle with me! ~ Lia

Thanks Sue. I can make two more for you through my Esty shop. These were shells I have been collecting so I would want to keep them. It would be fun to incorporate shells from that area or I could find some similar to what I used too. Send me an email (lia@liagriffith.com) to talk more details.
