Water You Waiting For?

Make a splash with this DIY project while honing your new embroidery skills. We chose our wool blend felt in the color Night to give you a bold background. The deep, inky hue perfectly compliments the curving aquatic outlines embroidered in lighter shades of blue. Once complete, hang it up for a very cool addition to your wall decor.

While this project requires some basic embroidery know-how, we still wanted it to beginner-friendly and approachable. We suggest printing out the water pattern on Sticky Fabri-Solvy and affixing it to your felt. You can then embroider the pattern right over the design for a flawless finish. Once you’re done, you can rinse the template away with warm water and give yourself a little pat on the back for a job well done.

We love the contrast of light on dark, but I think this design would be just as striking with dark embroidered lines over a light-colored background. Can’t decide? Make them both! Either way, we’d love to see your wonderful water masterpiece, so be sure to share photos of your project with us in our crafters community.
