This beginner-friendly Felt Play Plate and Flatware is all about simple shapes and thoughtful details. You’ll cut each piece from felt—plate, fork, knife, and spoon—then stitch them together with clean, easy seams. It’s a gentle introduction to both felt construction and decorative stitching, making it a great choice for newer makers or anyone looking for more embroidery practice. For extra guidance before you begin, check out our Beginner’s Guide to Embroidery Basics.
But the real magic happens after that very last stitch. Once complete, your Felt Play Plate and Flatware Set becomes something much bigger. Pair it with our felt fruits, pasta, and breakfast for a full spread ready to serve. Maybe it’s a pretend breakfast on the living room floor, an afternoon tea party, or a picnic that stretches from couch to coffee table. However it unfolds, it’s bound to be delicious.
This is also a wonderful project to make in multiples. A full set opens the door to shared play, and the simplicity of the design means you can create several pieces without feeling overwhelmed. Each one comes together quickly, but the impact lasts for far longer.
So, let’s set the table—it’s playtime! If you’re looking for a project that blends crafting with creativity in a hands-on way, we can't recommend our Felt Play Plate and Flatware set enough. When your table is set and ready for play, share your finished pieces in the crafters’ community and on social using #MadeWithLia.

Back to the TopHi Lia!! I would like to get the kitchen utensils patterns and Im very well prepared to pay for one monthly membership if that Will allow me to get them. I need to look at all the things you have and I might stay for a bit longer but not much longer. If not, how could I get them?
You make beautiful stuff.
Thank you very much.
Yes, you can download this project with a one month membership. You also get 4 other projects! Take a look around, we have so many fun things here on the site.
What kind of plastic sheet did you use? There seems to be a million and it’s hard to tell them apart when it’s online.
We used acetate similar to this: https://www.dickblick.com/items/grafix-clear-acetate-8-12-x-11-x-005-single-sheet/
Cut out the skillet on my Cricut. The rim is about an inch short from closing. Any idea what I may have done wrong?
Hi Debra! We got your email and are looking into this– will have more info shortly!
Any chance the SVG could be added for the utensils?
Hi Katelyn! We have added an SVG for this project, however we would recommend cutting the batting by hand as the cricut may have trouble cutting through it. 🙂
