Mini Crepe Paper Pine Trees
Our heavy crepe paper is so perfect for creating winter textures. Paper botanicals like poinsettias and pine needles are immediately elevated by the deep veins of the heavy crepe, and we first tried our rustic evergreen design with a cute mini wreath for the holidays. Now we are exploring new ways to use pine needles with adorable pint-sized crepe paper pine trees.

Become a MemberAs always, you can find your crepe paper materials in our online shop, along with the floral tape. This simple project only requires a few materials – the only other thing you need is 24-gauge floral wire. Once you have your materials, start by printing the PDF template to use as a guide for cutting your crepe or use the SVG file with your Cricut Maker or Silhouette Cameo 4. We used Emerald, but we listed a few other favorite greens below. Next, twist the needles as shown in the step-by-step photo tutorial. Then wrap the needles around the floral wire and secure with hot glue. You can make these crepe paper pine trees as full or as sparse as you would like!
To dress them up a bit, we glued white felt balls into the branches of the crepe paper pine trees, but you could also use cotton spun balls. Lastly we added cute little jingle bells with thin green ribbon for a holiday twist.
Instructions
- Gather tools and materials.
- Cut crepe paper into a 2” x 8” strip with the grain in the direction of the 2” width as shown on the PDF template. Fringe the edge, cutting with the fringe.
- Gently twist each piece of fringe.
- Wrap the strip around the end of a piece of floral wire and glue into place.

Can you tell me how long the wires are cut? Also, without the pot what is approx height of tree? thanks
Hi Amy,
Cut each wire to 6 inches, the tree should be around 9 – 10 inches tall without the pot.
Hi is that a thread spool that you have used for the base?
Yes! It’s a large one that we found at a local antique shop 🙂
