Homemade Almond and Floral Body Scrub
We are continuing the spa theme today with this recipe for a DIY scrub that will help prepare your skin ready for your pretty summer dresses. The base of epsom or sea salt not only exfoliates your skin but has the added benefit of absorbing toxins. One note about my reason for choosing salt over sugar for a scrub; I am working to limit the amount of refined sugar in my diet and since our skin absorbs whatever we put on it, adding sugar seems counter productive, right? Not only that but there is no health benefits from sugar where there are from epsom and sea salts. The almond oil has many healthy benefits for the skin so together they are a dynamic duo. For my floral essential oil I chose geranium which is oh so lovely. I then added a handful of lavender buds and fresh lilac petals for added color and another layer of natural fragrance. I made this scrub as a companion to the homemade body butter from yesterday and later today will share the labels for you to make a complete spa kit that is a perfect gift for your upcoming holidays and celebrations. Below is the printable recipe for this fragrant homemade body scrub and here are my ingredients and jar sources: Epsom Salt | Almond Oil | Geranium Essential Oil | Lavender Buds | Weck Jars | Labels   Enjoy! ~ Lia

Leave a CommentLia,
What a fantastic body scrub recipe. I love the addition of the lavender buds. I’ve never tried that before and am excited to.
Thanks for sharing.
Alicia @livejoyfullyinspired
This floral body scrub is just what I need for the change of seasons to get my skin looking refreshed again. Thanks!
Great recipe thanks so much! Beautiful graphics by the way 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
what size jar did you use?? which model?
The 1/2 L tulip jars from Weck.
For how long is advisable to leave it on the body ?
Also, men can use it ? If you could mention that little point in futures recipes, will be thankful. Regards from Mexico.
You shouldn’t need to leave it on too long, just scrub then wash off. And I don’t see why men couldn’t use it too! 😉
Where can I buy these little jars from or something similar? 🙂
They are Weck jars, I love them! http://weckjars.com/
Hello!! I ‘d like to know how long can we store this body scrub for????
I’ve stored mine for several weeks in an airtight container! 🙂
hi lia, i am allergic to almond oil, what can i use instead of it
You can use any oil that is used for massage or body use. Make sure it is liquid.
I’d love to purchase 40 of these from you! Is that possible?
I’m so glad that you’re so interested in this body scrub! Unfortunately I do not sell any finished products. I simply provide templates and instructions for the DIY projects to do on your own 🙂
Is it OK to package this scrub in a plastic container?
Definitely!
Lia, I was wondering if I could use coconut oil instead of almond oil and some fragrant rooibos tea instead of lavender… I know I’m completely changing up your recipe, but these are the things I already have at home right now…
Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer this…
I really like your blog and your crafts are very inspiring! I’m starting with the beauty tips, because I already have the stuff at home, but maybe I’ll try some paper crafts for Christmas decorations… We’ll see… 🙂
Yes, any oil will work though the coconut will solidify if cool. It is easy to warm up though.
We are so happy to have you here! As you can tell we love what we do and enjoy sharing with you all! 😉
I love all your spa kit recipes. I was wondering if you have a foot scrub recipe by chance??
Not yet, but that is a great idea. I need to make one:-)
Where did you find the glass jar at?!
Those are Weck jars. There is a link in the post.
Hi there, what could I use instead of lavender? x
You could use any floral fragrance and really don’t need floral buds. I was thinking to use rose petals, but again it is more for color.
I have a lot of cuts and cracks in my skin so salt scrubs sting horribly. Would i use the same amount of a course sugar I get from my co-op?
You could use sugar and a lot of scrubs do. Personally I am trying to cut sugar out of my diet so it seems silly to use it on my skin when I know how much my skin absorbs. But that is my own thing. . . so sugar may be perfect for you. For your cuts and cracks, try rubbing some coconut oil on them.
Awesome! What about the shelf life since no chemical in it?
There is nothing in it that should go bad, but I will give you an update for sure.
Thank you Lia
You are welcome, Suzan. (I liked the other way you spelled my name too), 😉
These are so awesome and elegant Lia! Thank you! This is SO much cheaper than buying products already made.
Cheaper and healthier. I was looking at my favorites and was blown away by the chemicals. They are even “natural” brands.
This whole set is absolutely beautiful! FYI: Crate and Barrel also has a decent selection of Weck jars from $2.50 to $5 each.
Thanks Lisa! I keep meaning to double check their website, but get distracted. 😉
