I am slowly revealing bits of my DIY woodland themed Christmas tree ornaments and decor and today it is all about the garland. I wanted the garland on my tree to make a statement and stand out on its own. After looking at several possibilities I decided to make something from a wool blend felt to add a touch of softness. I purchased a yard of wool blend felt at my local fabric store and cut the leafy pattern in strips the length of the felt. Once cut, there are tabs on both ends to sew the strips together for a full garland. This soft white wool leaf garland is the perfect touch! You can make a garland as well and use it for your tree, mantel or to hang over your door. This is something I will store after the holidays and be excited to use year after year. At the end of the post is the printable pattern for the leaf garland. You can visit this post for a SVG cut file. For best results, print onto 11×17 paper or select the tile option for 8.5×11 and tape the pattern together. Of course you can enlarge or reduce the garland pattern if you like. I made mine in a white wool and this would also be gorgeous in green with red berries. What do you think? Make sure and come back on Black Friday to see the full tree reveal. Enjoy! ~ Lia

Back to the TopIs there a SVG file similar to this? I would love to make it for my tree but that’s a lot of cutting
I love my Cricut Maker it makes cutting so much easier! I love everything you make!
Thank you Lia!
Hi Sharon,
Our felt greenery garland is almost identical to this one and has an SVG! https://liagriffith.com/felt-greenery-garland/
Hi, I love everything on your site! Question: are the twigs in the tree painted or natural? I can’t tell because of the light. Either way, it looks beautiful.
Thanks!
Thank you. The twigs are not real, I purchased them at Michaels:-)
Very pretty. I think I may give this a try. We had to get a new tree this year and it’s bigger then our old one. I have always used berry garland but feel the tree needs something more. I’m going to add ivory. It looks like you pinned the template on and then cut it? Thanks!
I just posted my whole tree today. You can see how it looks on the tree.
Soooo beautiful, off to find some suitable felt tomorrow..thank you x
I just love this garland! Share photos when you are done. 🙂
I love the white you have used, it’s beautiful! I might choose ivory since I have a lot of natural material ornaments on my tree. Speaking of the garland pattern, do you have a template or did you freehand your pattern. If it’s freehand, I’m sunk! Thanks. Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi Judy! No need to worry, I am looking out for you:) There is a link to a PDF with the pattern at the bottom of the post. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
