This Cardstock Woven Basket is wonderful for beginners and makes a fantastic introduction to weaving. It’s a good project for teaching young makers the value of patience and coordination while also helping with pattern recognition. Due to the precise measurements for each cardstock strip, we highly recommend using a cutting machine for this project. However, if you’ve got a steady hand, scissors are more than okay. Just be sure to watch for little fingers!
Keeping spring in mind, we’ve chosen sunny hues for our Cardstock Woven Basket. But we love the versatility of papercraft, so you can easily customize this project with any colors that you like. Think soft pastels for Easter baskets, bright rainbow hues for party favors, or classic neutrals for a timeless look.
Once your basket is woven, you can keep it simple or add your own playful touches. Attach a handle, glue on paper flowers, or personalize it with a name tag. However you style it, these sweet little baskets are ready to be filled with chocolate eggs, small toys, or handwritten notes.
Whether you’re crafting for Easter morning or just celebrating the arrival of spring, this Cardstock Woven Basket brings a little handmade charm to the season. And when your baskets are complete, be sure to share them with us in the crafters’ community and on social using #MadeWithLia. We can’t wait to see the colorful creations you and your little helpers weave together.

Back to the TopThank you so much for putting the monthly collection flowers together for us in this incredible basket arrangement! It is such a wonderful reference for those of us struggling “arrangers”. Also so amazing to show how we can make our own beautiful container. Your creative generosity is incredible and so appreciated!
You are so welcome! This was a really fun (and easy) arrangement, and so colorful! The Craft Circle membership level is all about arranging paper flowers. We even have a master class on arranging, and then I do a quarterly live arrangement class. https://liagriffith.com/craft-circle/
these round boxes for paper tissues or cosmetic tissues are perfect to be used as Easter baskets or gift baskets. Weave satin ribbons around or strips of left over fabrics or of gift paper, glue another paper/ cardboard strip as handle on the sides or punch 2 holes and pull a ribbon or cord through the holes, fixed by knots. Or fix the handle like Lia did (1st jpg)
So many ways you can use these baskets! 🙂
