Cozy Cabin Treat Boxes
Every occasion deserves its own themed treat box, and this year we are debuting our cabin treat boxes for winter and Christmas exchanges. The cabin treat boxes feature a woodgrain pattern with hanging icicles and multi-color Christmas lights. The rustic look is perfect for holiday gifting, and it’s a great way to celebrate a snowy white Christmas even if you are somewhere sunny. This is a very simple project, but there are a few easy ways you can take it up a notch. First, we used Hammermill 80lb cardstock for a smooth, velvety texture. Of course, you can use any cardstock that you can find at your local stationery or craft store. Second, we printed the cabin treat boxes with our Canon PIXMA MG7720 Wireless Photo All-in-One Printer for a vibrant Christmas color palette.
Goodies You Can't Google
You've found a member-exclusive project. But for less than the price of a fancy coffee... You'll get instant access to this and over 2,000 other premium projects inside the Lia Griffith membership!
Become a MemberOnce you’ve printed the boxes, trim the design and fold along the dotted score lines. This should be a very similar folding technique to some of our other treat boxes. One trick is to use the edge of a ruler or bone folder to help crease the score lines. Use some glue to secure the treat box, and then fill it with your favorite goodies! After the box is filled, style with a pretty ribbon, baker’s twine or jute. Punch small holes at the top to string your ribbon through and tie with a bow. The downloads below also include a gift tag that you can add to your cabin treat boxes that say “Warm Wishes.” Print the teal tags onto cardstock as well.
With Christmas around the corner, there are so many opportunities to use our cabin treat boxes. Place them at the kid’s table for Christmas dinner, stuff your little ones’ stockings, or give them out to your students if you are a teacher! Hi Lia & Staff — I used this box for a gift box for my Aunt for some earrings. It worked out so great and it looked so cute under our tree until we gave her the gift! I will definitely be making more for future tiny gifts! Thank you! 🙂
Yay that’s great! I love the treat boxes for small gifts.
Hi Lia,
I love these so much – but am super lazy with my cutting and was wondering if there’s an svg/cut file for these that would be compatible with the Cricut Explore One? I’m on a Mac and can’t save as anything other than pdf unfortunately!

Unfortunately we do not have a print then cut for this design because it would need to be sized down considerably to work with this feature on Design Space.
Lia, To co-ordinate with last year’s gingerbread house, I printed two of the gingerbread wrapping papers, cut out and layered each over a cabin roof…so cute!
Love that! Great idea 🙂
