Crepe Paper Acorns for Fall Decorations
I am loving the metallic crepe papers, and have been experimenting with crepe paper flowers made from these gorgeous metallics. But today I made a few adorable little acorns and leaves that I wanted to share with you!
For these acorns I chose the copper for the nut itself and made the caps from a non-metallic saddle. I then made fall leaves from Venetian gold, copper and burgundy. Together that gives me the fall look that I will be adding into my Thanksgiving centerpiece arrangement I will be sharing later this week.
Below you will find the full step-by-step tutorial so you can craft these cute little crepe paper acorns for fall. And at the end of the post you can easily download and print the PDF pattern for both the acorns and the fall leaves. Note that though I used a 2.5-inch foam ball, you can use almost any size — just adjust the pattern to fit.
This is a fun project to do with the kids on a crisp fall afternoon. I am excited to show you how I will be using them along with my crepe flower mums and upcoming crepe artichokes. So stay tuned! This will be a crepe-filled week. Cheers! ~ Lia

Is there an svg file for this acorn & leaf pattern?
This is an older project, but this version does have an SVG. https://liagriffith.com/video-tutorial-crepe-paper-acorns/
Which crepe paper weight would I get the most use from? I have used heavy and double sided..Also, extra fine. I suppose it depends one the different delicacy of flowers? But I am just not sure!
Thoughts?
Thank you in advance…
Hi! Yes it does depend on the flower, but we tend to use extra-fine and double-sided the most!
I love these but can’t find the paper.
My line of extra fine crepe would work great! https://shop.liagriffith.com/collections/crepe-paper
Hi Lia
I just purchased some of the crepe and tissue papers. I’m excited to start creating. I love your acorns and pine cones and of course the gorgeous flowers.
I want to make the cones but I could not find plum or saddle crepe paper. Any ideas?
Thank you.

We actually have our own crepe in colors that are close to the ones used in the photos: caffe and aubergine. 🙂 Check it out!
