Crepe Paper African Daisy – Member Make Workshop
You make my daisy
As always, we are kicking off this month’s craft collection with our Member Make flower! On July 17th, we will be going live on YouTube at 11:00 a.m. PST to show our members how to make a crepe paper African daisy. In the meantime, you can get prepared for the live workshop by checking out all of the tools and materials needed listed on the right hand side at the top of this post.
If you have any questions before then, be sure to let us know! Before the live workshop, you can also download our daisy template or SVG file and cut your pieces ahead of time if you want to craft along with me and Meagan.
This video is for members only.

I found that when putting crepe paper to cover the stem I use Alene’s stick glue on the paper. it’s less bulky and you use less. Don’t worry about missing some parts of the paper. I also use the stick when gluing two papers together. Put the glue on in the direction of the texture so as not to stretch the paper. I would probably use the stick on the centers also. It’s not as wet and the paper won’t stretch as much.
Great idea. We will have to try that glue.
Sorry, your response just popped up. Thank you for your helpfulness as always. I have some mango I will try!
No problem! See what you think of the extra-fine mango. It’s a yellow-orange and all of our crepe colors are hand mixed so sometimes there is some variation between packs. Our nectarine is more on the yellow side, but it’s a heavy crepe.
What color is the bright yellow in the photo tutorial? I have a friend that loves bright yellow and I can’t figure out which crepe to use. Thank you
Hi! All of the flower colors are listed above under color combinations. That color is our mango crepe. It’s currently sold out in our shop but will be back!
I think I must be missing something, when I upload the svg file to Design Space there are no inner petals.
I just double-checked the file, they are there! In pink, below the green sepals.
Thank you, thank you! For the colour combinations.
My mixing colours is less than desirable l have terrible colour co-ordination lol
This truly helps!
As an after thought…. 🤔
Maybe you could make a list of which pan pastels kinda match up with the crepe paper?
But then again that’s a big task. 😄
Thanks again Lia and Megan!
So glad this is helpful Tracy!
Hi, You mentioned during Member Make the color combinations would be posted. Did that get posted and if so, where. Really enjoyed watching. I’ve watched it several times while trying my first attempt at crepe paper flowers and always pick up something I missed. Probably because I was trying to make at the same time. Not a good idea for me! Thank you!
Hi, Linda! We just updated the post with the color combinations for each flower. It’s under the materials list and before the video. So glad you are enjoying it!
I struggle with covering stems with crepe paper. What direction should the grain be funning before cutting a strip? Thank you!
Hi Pilar,
The grain of the crepe paper should be across the short length of the strip. If you take one of our rolls of crepe paper and cut off the top 1/2″ of the roll you will have a nice length of crepe paper to wrap your stems with! 🙂
Thank you!
Hello again….what acrylic paint do you recommend in place of Dick Blick’s Yellow Orange Deep? They are out of it until August 10th.
Thanks again!
Hi Pilar,
Any yellow paint will work!
Hello! preparing for member make next week. Is the SVG file to have 26 petals or 24? The template notes 26 while the svg file will cut 24. The no of sepals in the SVG file is 12 and the template 8.
Thanks so much!
Hi Pilar,
You will need 24 petals and 12 sepals.
Thanks so much! Looking forward to class!
