The anemone is a fascinating flower packed with meaning and myth. Also known as the "windflower," this bloom's name comes from the Greek word anemos, meaning "wind." Symbolizing protection, anticipation, and joy, anemones were once thought to guard against ill wishes — perfect for setting positive intentions in your holiday decor! So, as you craft, you'll be weaving these layers of symbolism and beauty right into your petals.
This Crepe Paper Anemone is all about embracing the beauty of simple things. For example: the special technique used here – layering and manipulating crepe paper – will help you create stunning blooms and equip you with valuable skills for future paper flower projects. You can also play with different color combinations, or even create a bouquet in various sizes for a truly unique display.

I made these both in red and chiffon. Nice flowers I like the way they turned out.
Yes! There are so many good colors to make! I love this flower.
Have just finished watching the video of the crepe paper Anemone. Again, I would really appreciate knowing where on the anemone flower stem you would put the leaves. I like my flowers to look as authentic as possible so this is an important part of making flowers. I was under the impression that you would be including this information in the future but I guess you were just too busy.
Hello Helene! If you want to attach the leaves to the stems you can add one or two leaves under the flower head between a quarter of an inch to one inch down the stem. If you look at photos of these flowers you will see that the leaves are usually around the flower itself or at the base of the flower.
What type of crepe are we using for next months camelias? I want to make sure I have some on hand for the member make. Thank you
We are actually making the Geranium in December. We will be sending an early list out through email for the supplies that will include all of the December flowers. 🙂
Hello! On this lovely Crepe Paper Anemone flower, where was the Dark Violet pan pastel used? I think I missed that.
No, we forgot to show it in the video! lol. But you can see that step in the photo tutorial. 🙂
thank you!
I watched the member make but need to order the crepe paper for anemone but then I saw the beautiful geranium and beauty berry and want to make them too. Can you tell me which papers are used in those projects so I can do one order? Can’t wait to do them during these grey winter days.
Hello Rebecca! So many pretty things coming up. You actually inspired us to send an email to everyone with this list. Watch for that email for direct links.
Here it is in advance. Beautyberry materials: Double-Sided Green Tea & Cypress. Extra-Fine Caffe, 6mm Spun Balls, 24-Gauge Wire, Americana Paint – Lilac Meadow and Plum. Geranium materials: Extra-fine in Juniper, Vanilla, and Camellia, Double-Sided Flamingo & Peony and Green Tea & Cypress, 24-Gauge Paper Covered Green Wire, White Colored Pencils – White, Posca Paint Marker – 3M Fine Reversible Bullet – Fuchsia, Tombow Dual Brush Marker – Cherry 815
Thank-you so much!
You are welcome!
How was the dark violet pan pastel used
You can see this step in the photo tutorial, though we forgot to show in the video. It is used to add a subtle color variation to the centers of the flowers.
Perhaps the violet pan pastel was for the center? I just got done googling photos or red anemone photos and some look to have a violet shade near the center.
Correct! If you look at the center of these flowers (the nature grown version) they have a purple dusty look to them. That was to add the subtle detail.
Watched most of the live and have my petals prepped and drying. What was the pan pastel for, the leaves or back of flowers/
Yes! We totally forgot to show it! But, you can find where it is used in the photo tutorial. 🙂
Beautiful!!
Thank you!
Love how you are adding the white! theses were one my fav flowers to make when i first starting watching you!
We get to do different centers for this flower too. I am super excited.
If we wanted to craft along it would be helpful to have petals prepared before next Friday. What was the liquid Megan used to make the base white? Is that bleach?
Sure! Make ahead. And. . . good news. She used WATER. 🙂 No toxic beach here. lol
Are we able to download the 2025 calendar now?
Yes! You can find it in the 12 Days of Craftsmas in Craft Academy. https://liagriffith.com/craft-academy/tracks/12-days-of-craftsmas/
I saw these on your video for our November projects and I am so excited to learn the new techniques and create this gorgeous flower. I loved the anemones you created before but these are show stoppers!!
They are! And we can make them from so many more colors. 🙂
