Crepe Paper Italian Ruscus Video Workshop
Just Add Green
Greenery does a lot of quiet work in an arrangement. It often hangs back, offering support and balance without asking for attention. Our Crepe Paper Italian Ruscus Video Workshop, part of the Spring Garden Series, focuses on that essential roleāgiving you a foliage piece that adds movement and structure to your handmade bouquets.

Because of the support youāll receive in this Crepe Paper Italian Ruscus video workshop, we encourage all of our members to give it a try, regardless of skill level. In particular, Italian ruscus is known for its long, arching stems and evenly spaced leaves, which means your attention turns to clean construction and thoughtful placement. Here, the spacing matters. The angle matters. Together, these elements create the natural, flowing shape that makes ruscus so versatile. As you work, simple tools like floral wire, tape, and precision-cut leaves help you build stems that feel both lightweight and sturdy.
Within the Spring Garden Series, your Crepe Paper Italian Ruscus plays an important supporting role. For example, pair it with your Crepe Paper Icelandic Poppies to add fullness, or layer it behind focal blooms for added depth. Alternatively, let a few stems stand on their own for a minimal, modern look. As a result, it becomes one of those elements youāll reach for again and again. In fact, you may find it becomes your go-to for softening arrangements or adding that final, polished touch.
Every arrangement needs a foundation. So, with that in mind, this Crepe Paper Italian Ruscus workshop gives you the greenery that ties it all together. As you follow along in Craft Academy, take your time with each stem, and notice how this greenery brings balance and cohesion to your designs.
Finally, when your Crepe Paper Italian Ruscus stems are ready, share them with us in our craftersā community and on social using #MadeWithLia. Letās make something beautiful together.

Leave a CommentHi Lia,
I can’t find the video tutorial for this one. What am i missing?
You are not missing anything! We had it toggled to live for the event, but it should be showing now. Thank you for pointing that out. š
Lia, when you began wrapping the stems, you reminded us that “if” we were using the heavy, wrapping at an angle would keep the stem from becoming bulky. Would there be an upside to using heavy to wrap here? Thanks.
No, that was for someone in the community who was telling us they only had the heavy to use for this project. I would use the extra-fine to wrap.
Lia how tall did you make this branch? Thanks.
My branches are 16-18 inches.
FYI… The template says to cut 8 Medium. However, the design layout shows there are 9.
Thanks for telling me! I will fix that right now.
Somehow I missed the comment on the svg to attach the cut lines. Where was the info?I’m just cutting a slit in all the leaves.
We are making new videos on SVG files, but when you see a sub group, that generally will indicate that you will want to attach that subgroup. Similar to score lines.
Just watched the video. The arrangement is gorgeous. I have a question about hydrangeas. The last time you made or hydrangea you used the floral spray to color it so Iām wondering if there is going to be a newer version of hydrangea not using that floral spray? Also, have you ever done an Alstromaria?
Thank you, Sharon! Yes! We have a brand new hydrangea coming this summer, using PanPastels. I have already filmed the workshop (it will be part of our Paper Flower Garden Master Class). We are also creating a new lilac without the spray paint. I will add the Alstromeria to our list. Thank you for that suggestion.
Love the Spring Garden Series; what a great idea! Thank you. How many ruscus branches do we need for the final arrangement? Thanks.
Thank you for telling us you like this format! We will use three Ruscus for the final arrangement.
