When shaping your Crepe Paper Potted Petunias, you’ll discover different ways to make this project completely your own. For example, color is where you can really let your style and creativity shine. In addition to Sangria, Cypress, and White crepe paper for this project, we also used various Copic markers to create those signature petunia tones. However, feel free to experiment with color combinations that speak to you, your space, or the occasion.
Assembly of your potted petunias is a breeze – especially with the right tools at hand. You’ll use floral wire and tape to assist with structure, while glue will help keep everything in place as you work. A low-temp glue gun works well for quick assembly, but if you’ve got time – craft glue is a great option as well.
Since this project already includes a display vessel, these Crepe Paper Potted Petunias are ready to show off as soon as the last leaf is wired, taped, or glued into place. Once arranged, these pretty petunias are ready to sit on a desk or bedside table. They’re also a beautiful way to honor someone special this upcoming Mother’s Day or just because.
We love to see your skills and creativity come together, so once your Crepe Paper Potted Petunias are in full bloom, remember to share them with us in our crafters’ community and on social using #MadeWithLia.

Leave a CommentI would like the answer to my question but do not want to go through the book with you to create the petunia. My I please know how to format to a 10″ from the templates. I upgraded to yearly and ordered the book but want to move forward now.
Hello Cathie! So, the template (SVG) is set up for you, and there is a simple step of attaching the groups so that they do not move around the page (moved by Cricut software). I do go through this step and show in video right here in the Foundation (Video) Series. I don’t know about you, but I learn better visually, and it is easier to show some things through a video. 🙂 I think you might really like this series if you are just getting started. And, we are always here to help along the way. https://liagriffith.com/craft-academy/tracks/crepe-paper-flower-foundations-series/
could you send a link to the page. i cannot seem to find it
https://liagriffith.com/craft-academy/tracks/crepe-paper-flower-foundations-series/
This is the link for the foundation series. Scroll down and click “START,” then you can click “Mark Complete” to move through the modules, where you will find the Cutting Machine videos.
I do recommend that you watch all the videos, as they are full of tips for making paper flowers that you will enjoy.
forget it I finally got out of my own way and figured it out. thanks
Oh good! Hope you enjoy the series. 🙂
I ordered it but since I am not annual member did the order go through? I pay monthly.
Hey there! This series is free for you to watch. It goes along with the book, and you should have full access to it. I see you are now an annual member, which also gives you access to the master class that begins on Friday. This is perfect for the new paper flower crafter.
how do I group object so they print on the 10′ paper. and not 12×12?
I share this in the new foundation series, so you can watch the details. Here is the link: https://liagriffith.com/craft-academy/tracks/crepe-paper-flower-foundations-series/
I love these flowers. I plan to make some in Lavender and maybe Merlot as well as these beauties. Could you give me some advice on pan pastel for the dark Merlot? Thanks for another amazing flower class. Love you ladies.
Ooo pretty, I would use a color that is darker than the paper like Magenta extra dark, and I don’t think you will need to use any green PanPastel.
I only have 24 gauge wires on hand can I use this instead of the 18 or should I wait until I get some 18 gauge wires?
I think you will like them better with the thicker wire, but you can also double up on the 24-gauge.
Thanks I ordered some 18 gauge wires, I feel that following your guidelines always results in amazing flowers
Hi ladies, I don’t have the Vermillion pan pastel. What other color would work? I don’t see anything close to that and I have most of the pan pastel colors
You can use the Pearlescent Red instead. We are actually planning to replace this color with the Vermillion Medium since it is very similar. 😉
Hi Lia
Will your shop be carrying sangria extra-fine crepe paper again? I just love the purple color in the photos of the petunias
Hi Susan! It’s actually been renamed to Merlot – I updated the links in the post 🙂
Do you have the SVG file for these? They are beautiful!!
The SVG has been uploaded!
Thank you!!!
I love these flowers. They are only very cute and realistic but so nuch fun to make,. Thanks Lia.
You’re so welcome!
These petunias are gorgeous. My question is: Can you make the crepe paper flowers out of felt? Thanks.
Thank you Diana! Unfortunately our crepe paper patterns won’t always transfer well to other materials (they’re designed pretty specifically to keep the grain of the crepe paper in mind).
These are beautiful. I’ve made many of your flowers and have really enjoyed it. I’d like to make this for my mother. Can I ask what size container you used? I’ll have to order one to ship it to her.
Thank you Amanda! I’m sure your mother would love this. The pot we used was 4.5″ high and 4.5″ wide.
Definitely will be having a go at this one ….Just fabulous as usual ….not enough hours in the day to make all these wonderful flowers
Suex
Thank you Sue! 🙂
