DIY Headpieces for a Boho Glam New Year’s Eve (updated for 2021)

DIY Headpieces for a Boho Glam New Year’s Eve (updated for 2021)
One of our favorite parts of planning our Boho Glam New Year’s Eve celebration was creating these DIY headpieces for a gorgeous boho fashion statement. Our main design theme for our boho event was our paper feathers, so we used our extra feathers to style these head wreaths and headbands for your party guests. On a personal note, the models in the photos are my daughter and her boyfriend – they have modeled our New Year’s props for the last 4 years, and it has become our little family tradition! And that’s what the holidays are really about, right?

For the women’s design, we started with our pretty crepe flower crown, and then built it out with more boho accents. We added another little peony to the design, plus a white carnation. We cut the feathers using the same papers as our paper feather background for a cohesive color palette. To give the DIY headpieces some New Year’s flair, we added the cut papercut 2017 designs, which we cut onto gold glitter paper. When you are ready, attach everything using your hot glue gun. We encourage you to take creative liberty with how you want to arrange the pieces! For the men’s New Year’s headpiece, we used antlers as the base of our design. We cut the antlers with our Cricut onto chipboard for a sturdier material, and of course we included the 2017 designs here too.
Find the templates for our feathers and antlers, plus the 2020 graphics in the downloads below! There is an SVG version if you have a cutting machine, or a PDF version if you are cutting by hand. This project is really meant to just give some inspiration for making something festive that can also reflect your personal style. So don’t be shy in doing your own customizing. You are also welcome to create DIY headpieces with just paper feathers for a more understated look. It’s all up to you! As you can see from our photos, we used the 2020 paper pieces to craft some easy drink stirrers, and they would be great to use as confetti as well. For another beautiful New Year’s headpiece, be sure to find our silver star headband.

It will be nice to have an option to use all past NYE /NYD Projects with the new year. Are they going to be updated or at least be able to edit?
Thanks
