DIY_Summer_Crepe_Paper_Magnoila_Wreath
At the end of April I shared with you my crepe paper magnolia design and tutorial. Since then, I have been wanting to create a wreath with these beautiful blooms. Well, here it is! And I am in love. This wreath now graces my front door and welcomes the warm, sunny days of summer. The crepe paper is just so wonderful to work with and it suits this large bloom so well because you can stretch and manipulate the paper with your fingers as you go. On a 12″ foam wreath you really don’t need more than 10 blooms making this the perfect afternoon craft project. For my wreath I made 7 of the flowers in full bloom and the other three as smaller buds. These are simple to adapt as they only need 4 petals and to create the bud shape the petals are tacked together at the tips with a little glue. We filled the wreath with plenty of rich dark leaves in two different tones, that were shaped with a slight stretch. The paper magnolia wreath will hang on my front door under the porch until I am ready to change up my color palette for fall. I’ll then bring it indoors and find somewhere fabulous to hang it year-round. Pop back over to my tutorial post to see how to make the crepe paper magnolias then follow my simple step-by-step tutorial below to make your own glorious crepe paper magnolia wreath.  We love to see our designs out there in the world so if you make your own crepe paper magnolia or wreath please do share it with us across Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and we will share our faves. Enjoy! ~ Lia
