We love designing fun accent pieces for you to display around your home. While we’re no strangers to the power of a bold centerpiece, sometimes it’s those small touches that really tie a theme or a room together. It’s with those details in mind that Emily designed this beautifully simple Handmade Wood Bead Garland.
This 30-minute DIY project is very beginner-friendly and only requires three materials to complete. Scroll down to our step-by-step tutorial to get started.

Years ago, we made another, smaller version of this design for a Christmas tree garland with yarn tassels. But garlands aren’t just for the holidays, so we decided to give this design a summer makeover! We traded the tassels for a natural macrame cord to give this garland a stripped-down, beachy vibe. I personally love the neutral tone Emily chose for this design, but a pop of color between the beads and at the tails with different color cording would be a fun take!
Garlands are an easy way to add effortless character and charm to your home and need very little styling. With its natural wood finish and simple pattern, this piece ties in seamlessly with just about any color palette or decorative style. To make this garland tie into your summer decor, try pairing it with some of our other macrame projects for a look that’s au naturale.
