Using soft wool felt balls in warm fall colors like terracotta, mushroom, and almond, you'll cut tiny ears, snouts, and wings from wool blend felt. While you can use a cutting machine, the tiny details are best cut with scissors. After all, precision is key! Add the finishing touch with a dab of glue, attach craft eyes, and voilà — your forest friends are complete!
Each felt ball transforms into the body of a charming little animal—a bear, fox, or owl—just waiting to come to life. But why stop at one? Since the felt balls come in sets of six, you can create a whole forest of woodland friends. Picture a family of fuzzy foxes, bears, and owls perched on your mantel or peeking out from your shelves! Additionally, you can get ahead of your holiday crafting and reserve your Felt Ball Woodland Animals for a forest-themed Christmas tree!
Though these Felt Ball Woodland Animals are super cute all on their own — don't be afraid to lean into the creative process! Mix and match the colors or add a little sparkle. With simple projects like these, the sky's the limit with how you can customize and make them truly your own. And don't forget — this project is also a fun way to introduce little ones to the joy of crafting. They'll love seeing these animals take shape before their eyes!
So gather your tools, kiddos, and friends for a cozy evening of crafting. Your Felt Ball Forest Animals will be the talk of the season! Once you're done, we'd love to see your creations. We had trouble gluing the ears to the felt ball. Applied the glue and held it to the ball, but it doesn’t adhere right away. It seems like you would have to hold the ear to the felt ball for quite a while until it actually stuck. We ended up using hot glue, but it’s messy. Any tips?
I ended up using the Aleenes Tacky glue for the best results. It is thicker so will not absorb into the balls as quickly as the thinner glue. Hot glue works too, but yes, pretty messy.
instead of using wool felt balls I would paint cheap table tennis balls. I don’t get the woolen ones here in Germany and it is too expensive to order them in the USA 🙂
That is a great idea. You can also use wooden beads.
