This Felt Coastal Jade Plant is great for our more adventurous beginners. Because this project offers some fun technical challenges, it'll help take your skills to the next level. However, if you’re looking to practice with new techniques, tools, or materials, our tutorial makes it easy to take some creative risks — no matter where you are in your journey.
When jade plants become "sun-stressed," the tips of their thick leaves turn gorgeous shades of yellow or red.. We captured that same sun-kissed look by blending rich PanPastels onto the felt leaves. To keep the color soft and natural, we recommend gently patting the pastel on instead of swiping, which helps prevent the felt from pilling. When you’re happy with the blend, seal your colors with a light mist of fixative spray so they stay vivid and bright!
When finished, our Felt Coastal Jade Plant is a great way to perk up a drab shelf or bring some seaside vibes to your office desk. And with those beautiful tips of red and gold, she also works as a standalone beauty if you’re looking for something bold and earthy. Once your stems are ready, arrange them in a simple pot filled with decorative stones for a realistic, grounded look. Group her with a few of our other felt plants for a unique botanical accent.
When you’re finished arranging her just so — make sure to show her off! We’d love to see how you have her styled, so please don’t forget to tag us with #MadeWithLia.
