Designed especially for beginners, this project is a wonderful introduction to working with felt and embroidery. Using simple tools and materials, you'll stitch and layer colorful felt to bring each character to life. These Felt Fairy Tale Finger Puppets are also a fantastic opportunity for children learning to sew, as the simple designs make it approachable and fun for younger crafters. However, if you or your mini maker need more guidance on your stitches, check out our free embroidery guide for step-by-step tutorials.
Many generations of children have cherished finger puppets, using them in cultures worldwide. For example, they have long been cherished as storytelling tools to convey myths, fables, and moral lessons interactively and engagingly. In today's world, toys like these, which require no batteries or screens, offer a refreshing reminder of the magic within all children.Â
Additionally, this project offers customization options to make it truly special. Personalize the princess's hair and skin tone to reflect the lucky recipient, or create unique color schemes for your magical crew. The felt layers are stitched with basic embroidery techniques, giving each character its charming, handmade appeal.
Once your puppets are complete, the adventures can truly begin! Group your Fairy Tale Finger Puppets with our Cardstock Fairy Tale Castle for an immersive play experience. From dragon-slaying quests to royal celebrations, the possibilities are endless. Don't forget to share your creations on Instagram with the hashtag #MadeWithLia and in our vibrant crafters' community — we love seeing your magical makes!

The photo tutorial doesn’t show the wizard or dragon. Is there another page that got left off by mistake?
This is an older project before we switched to a PDF tutorial. To have all of the characters included would have made the tutorial too long, so she suggested that they are the same basic steps with their unique details. Let me know if you have any questions on those last two.
