Felt Pansies
Pretty as a Pansy
It's easy to see how pansies earned their reputation as the flowers with “faces.” Their velvety petals and cheerful markings seem to smile back from garden beds, window boxes, and front porch planters every spring. Our Felt Pansies are equally charming and just as packed with personality. These perky, beginner-friendly blooms look so cute tucked into a handmade bouquet or displayed in a potted arrangement up on a sunny windowsill.

With only a handful of pieces, these beginner-friendly Felt Pansies come together quickly and offer a wonderful introduction to felt flowers. However, the real magic happens when you add a little color. We used pastel yellow and purple paint pens to recreate the pansy's signature petals, then finished each bloom with delicate burgundy veins using a fine-tip marker. For the best results, let each layer dry completely before adding the next, and use light, short strokes to keep the felt fibers smooth.
Pansies have brightened gardens for centuries and remain one of the oldest cultivated ornamental flowers. Their name comes from the French word pensée, meaning "thought." That explains why these cheerful blooms are often exchanged as tokens of affection, remembrance, and gratitude. Every stem carries a quiet reminder that even the simplest gesture can express what words sometimes cannot.
Something we truly love about pansies is their incredible variety. While we chose to make our Felt Pansies a soft white accented with plum, nature offers nearly every color imaginable. So as you create your own version, don't hesitate to experiment with combinations that reflect your personal style. Try creating stems with different numbers of flowers and leaves to mimic the relaxed, natural look of a thriving garden. Then, once finished, gather them into a centerpiece or place them into a favorite pot to add a little cheer to your space.
When your Felt Pansies are ready to display, we'd love to see your colorful creations, so remember to share them in our crafters' community and on social using #MadeWithLia.
