Often misunderstood, possums are nature's nocturnal helpers. These backyard critters are very effective at getting rid of unwanted pests like insects and rodents. Along with their distinctively rodent-like faces, possums are also known for their long, hairless pink tails, which they can use to grasp tree limbs and hang upside down.
To achieve that trademark possum look, we gave our felt possum long, wiry whiskers made with embroidery floss. And to mimic their long prehensile tails, we sewed a chenille wire stem inside our stuffie's tail to make it poseable. How cute is that? Craving more cute critter action? Try your hand at these mouse and rabbit stuffie projects.
Whether you craft one or a whole passel of possums, don't forget to share your creation with us in our crafters' community or on Instagram with the hashtag #MadeWithLia.
Stitches used: blanket, whip, and ladder stitch.

Hello, dear Lia!
If I buy a monthly membership, could I get this pattern?
I love this possum so much😍
Yes, you can! And a few little friends for this cutie as well. 🙂
Ok🖖
Thanks❤
I have not been able to find the SVG download… only the PDF. I watched the video on how to upload and it looked like there was a specific SVG download. I wasn’t sure if I missed it. Or, Do I need to convert it myself? Thank you!
All of the files, SVG, PDF template and tutorial are in one zipped folder now. Let me know if you need any extra help on how to unzip or download. 🙂
I’m having trouble unzipping the files to print from my phone.
Can you download and unzip the folder onto your computer then send the file to your phone? There are ways to do it on the phone, but this is the easiest method.
Noting that on the colour page of the PDF the front leg and back leg say x2, but I think it should probably say x4.
Hi Julie! The template is correct. The charcoal legs on the left are sewn to the body pieces, and the longer ones in the middle are sewn to the underside. It is marked with those colored dots, too
I am a member and yet cannot access the animal stuffy templates???
Are you logged into your account?
I love this!
Perfect for September! 🙂
I have never been so excited.
Right!?! I have never seen such a cute possum!
