Felt Turkey
Quirky Turkey
Thanksgiving is just a gobble away, and what better way to celebrate than with a handmade turkey of your own? Our Felt Turkey is a charming addition to our ever-growing collection of felt stuffies. With his floral embroidered tail and cottagecore flair, this little guy is ready to strut his stuffing as part of your fall décor.

We consider this handsome Felt Turkey an intermediate-level project due to some necessary construction knowledge before you get started. Though this project is a bit more labor intensive, we think you’ll find the results are well worth it. We’ve weighted our turkey with poly-pellets so he sits up nice and tall for you, and we recommend using a firm interfacing to help his tail stay upright. Crafted in complementary fall hues, he’s both festive and stylish — the perfect handmade touch for the season.
Of course, no Thanksgiving would be complete without mentioning the turkey. This bird has been a symbol of American harvest celebrations for centuries and is now synonymous with Thanksgiving Day itself. Our felt version offers a playful, decorative take on the tradition, letting you enjoy the turkey in a whole new way. Also, don't forget to check out a few more of our awesome turkey projects like this DIY Cork Turkey and these Felt and Pinecone Turkeys.
When it comes to customization, you can really let your creativity shine. Embroider your Felt Turkey’s tail feathers with different floral patterns or experiment with bolder fall color palettes. If you’re in the mood for a fun challenge, try stitching a name for your turkey — Tom sounds pretty good to me.
When you're all finished, this little guy makes a delightful centerpiece, mantel accent, or companion to your other fall and Thanksgiving décor.
We can’t wait to see how you make this Felt Turkey all your own! So as always, don’t forget to share your finished projects with us on social media using the hashtag #MadeWithLia, or spread a little creative joy in our crafters’ community.

Back to the TopI am a new member and anxious to make my first project which is this felt turkey. I would like some advice on how to cut out the felt pieces according to the template. I do own the Cricut Explore Air and also the Cricut Bright Pad. Also, is there any other advice that you can pass along? I do get discouraged easily and tend to give up when things do not go right. Thank you.
Welcome! We are so happy you are here. We recommend cutting the felt by hand. You can use a Cricut with a rotary blade, but our designer, Krista, who makes most of the felt projects, prefers hand cutting when making stuffies. Here is a mini-course that has a full video on different methods of cutting by hand. https://liagriffith.com/craft-academy/tracks/felt-stuffies-8-easy-steps/
We are here to answer all your questions, so please don’t hesitate to ask.
