You might remember our love for the lazy daisy stitch from projects past, like these sweet embroidered sneakers. It’s a wonderful stitch for breathing new life into some of your old favorites. Also, this is a fabulous project for young makers looking to get into embroidery.

Our flower embroidered jeans have a sweet and simple design of pretty pastel five-petaled flowers. Using flowers or varying size, we embellished along the front pockets of our jeans, but really, you could stitch them just about anywhere. How cute would these look marching along the cuff, for instance? As a nod to the coming spring season, we chose delicate pinks and purples for our flowers. However, a solid black or white thread could really elevate your old jeans into something quite chic.

Pro tip: when embroidering clothing of things that might be washed, I like to stitch each item and tie them off individually.  This way,  if something comes loose you won’t lose your whole design. You can also use an iron on interface like this one to be sure nothing moves

We really love the idea of revitalizing what you already own to make new pieces for your wardrobe. Upcycling is just a way to celebrate the memories embedded in your most cherished pieces while embracing your creativity.
