Shine so Fine
Introducing the star of our 2017 Christmas concept tree… our glitter paper star tree topper! You might remember this star kit from our holiday line with JoAnn Stores last year. It was such a hit, we thought we’d bring it back in a craft-from-scratch format this year. Here’s what the rest of our 2017 tree looks like, by the way, in case you’re curious!

This glitter paper star tree topper is a very simple holiday project. To see how I make it, watch our video tutorial above. I’ll walk you through how to put it together in less than 10 minutes!
Also, if you need some new decorations to go with your new tree topper, you might like our copper leaf ornaments and our 3D paper tree ornaments. Do you use the same ornaments every year or do you like to do something different each year? We personally think it’s fun to mix it up once in a while!

What weight of cardstock is best for this?? Mostly I see 65.lb cardstock. should I have a heavier weight paper?
65 lb should work, you can also add some wire inside to make it stronger if need be.
What material do you for the center to glue the decorative pieces on to?
Thanks!
Chipboard! I just added a link to our favorite one in the post.
Thanks!
LOVE this star and no time like the summer to make several for Christmas gifts. Any chance the kits are still available? I do not have a cricut and can’t see my self cutting all the elements by hand.
Thanks so much for any help you might offer.
