One winter color that will be forever timeless is gold. I am also in love with adding gold into my home decor. So when I designed this gold paper fern wreath for my holiday decorating, I realized it might just find a place in my home in the months to follow along with a few of my other seasonless wreath favorites — like this white paper herb wreath from our November collection or the frosted paper boxwood wreath that was first featured in my Cutting Machine Crafts book.

This is one fern-tastic wreath

For this luminous gold paper fern wreath, I used the text weight paper from the new frosted gold pack we have in our shop. This paper is high quality, Italian made, and with so many colors to choose from in this pack, I picked three different shades to add depth to the finished wreath. It looks almost like real metal when the light hits the metallic frost of the delicately shaped ferns.

You can watch how I assembled this wreath after cutting the detailed fern fronds with my cutting machine in the video below. By adding the bind wire onto the back of each frond, it not only encouraged them to stand proud without wilting but allows for additional curve and shape to the finished wreath.
