We are doing something a little different for this month’s Member Make! This time last year we made some really pretty hellebore flowers. But with Christmas coming up, Meagan and I thought it would be fun to craft some holiday greenery using both frosted paper and crepe paper.
Members can join us live on November 13th at 11 am PST, or you can always find the video here later to watch. In the meantime, everything you need to make your holiday greenery is listed below so you can get prepared for our workshop!
Happy Hollydays
For the frosted paper holiday greenery, I made two styles of pine, a blue spruce, and cedar and holly leaves with red berries. And for the crepe paper holiday greenery, Meagan made holly leaves with white berries, long-needle pine leaves, and fir sprigs. Depending on what you want to make, we have separated the tools and materials out for each type of paper — so make sure to check both lists below if you want to make all of the holiday greenery.
For best results, we recommend using a cutting machine since most of the greenery is very intricate. However, if you don’t have a cutting machine, you can always use our printable template to cut your paper pieces by hand.

Hi Lia,
Was the red berries coloured with pan pastel or marker? May I have the colour code please? Thanks!
I added a link to the Karin marker that I would use now, but we are sold out at the moment so here is a similar match from Blick: https://www.dickblick.com/items/blick-studio-brush-marker-red/
Hi Lia,
Do you attach the winter greenery to a wreath? Or it’s meant to be loose leaf filler greenery?
This was styled in a wreath-like circle for the photo, but you can attach it with floral tape or hot glue.
Thank you, Meagan and Lia! I have listened to other videos prior to meeting Lia Griffith Crepe Paper, and eventually, they became boring and uninteresting to maintain my attention. You ladies are quite the opposite! Your knowledge, camaraderie has me laughing and even responding to both of you! Thank you for that!
Your designs are over the top! Thank you so very much for all you do!
Thank you Alice, this means so much to us! We have a lot of fun and I’m glad our members can see that 🙂
Is there a pattern for the little Christmas tree that you showed us on the video. If not, how many branches would it take to make the tree?
Yes here it is! https://liagriffith.com/mini-crepe-paper-pine-trees/
Hi! I love being a member:) I just needed to double check something. When making the crepe pines, I believe I need to start gluing the crepe strip to the bind wire about an inch or two down the bind wire stem? (So the brown bind wire is in the middle of the needles to give structure?). I think that’s what Megan did I just want to make sure. Hope this makes sense lol Thanks in advance , Lisa
Hi Lisa! Begin glueing the crepe at the tip of the bind wire and work your way down so that there is wire in the middle of your pine. 🙂 Leave a couple inches of wire un wrapped for the stem.
I thought of a way to quickly paint the berries! This comes from a past live you’ve done. You were making the little wooden dolls and you where painting the little hands to match the skin tone. You wanted to make sure that the whole bead got colored but you didn’t want it to roll away. SO, you put it on a wire. I thought that if you want the berries to be fully covered, fast and easy, then you could put the spun cotton balls on a wire before you glue them and spray paint them. THEN, you could take them off and glue each one onto its own stem!
LOVE THIS, great idea!! Thank you.
I just downloaded the SVG’s but was wondering if there are directions on how to make these other than just the video member make?
Thank you in advance for your helpfulness!
Correct, tools & materials are listed in the post, and the video will give you all the detailed instructions.
I used the pearl paper setting and it went well but I’ll try your recommendation. I was really shredding paper a few weeks ago!
Yes give that a try and let us know how it goes!
I love the calls a lilies!
We do, too! So glad to hear it 🙂
There are no written instructions for the Winter Greenery – just watch the video??
Correct, tools & materials are listed in the post, and the video will give you all the detailed instructions.
for the crepe paper version, which are cut from the double sided, and which the single?
We just updated the materials with this information 🙂
Dear Lia Griffith Team,
which kind of crepe paper did you use for which greenery?
Thanks for your advise, Denise
We just updated the instructions with this information!
I do not see the frosted paper images on the SVG file. The only images uploading are the crepe
paper images.
Hi Laura– there are 2 separate files in the SVG Cut File download– one for the crepe, and one for frosted.
When I downloaded the SVG it only gives me 1 greenery, not all of them. Am I supposed to find the others in the library of SVG’s?
Thanks for catching that! The correct files are now ready to download 🙂
I want to start cutting my frosted paper so that I am ready to make my foliage on the 13th. Please, please can you advise best mat, blade and setting to use on Cricut for frosted paper. I have never used it before and had to order my pack for delivery all the way from USA to the UK so dont want to waste a single bit! Thank you
Yay! Try a small test cut first (I usually draw a couple circles in Design Space). We use a standard mat with a fine point blade and the Copy Paper + More setting.
