Become a MemberHere at the Lia Griffith studio we love creating new designs for tote bags. Maybe it’s because IÂ live in Portland, but I am constantly using tote bags for grocery shopping, farmers markets, and weekend activities. So needless to say, I like to have a nice variety. Today we are sharing this beyond adorable honey bee tote bag design, courtesy of our fabulous illustrator Krista!
I love that this honey bee tote bag is ready just in time for summer. Cricut has this wonderful flocked iron-on that was perfect for this project. This iron-on is velvety and soft, so it makes for a really high quality bag. We used the flocked iron-on in Black and Tangerine  to create our honey bee, but any iron on material would work for this bee tote bag. Download the SVG below if you are lucky enough to be using a cutting machine for this project (a cutting machine is very convenient for projects like these!), or download the PDF if you are cutting by hand. If you are using the SVG, you will see that the design is split into two layers, one for the black parts and one for the yellow parts. If you are cutting by hand, print the full design directly onto transfer paper and then follow the instructions on your specific transfer paper to apply the design to your tote. We found these great basic canvas totes on Amazon, find the link in the Shop this Project section!
This bee tote bag is great shopping bag for yourself, and it is also a lovely opportunity to give an easy handmade gift to a loved one. Head to this post if you are interested in learning how to sew your own tote bag with a sewing machine, or check out some of our other tote bag iron-ons! Our glittery “hello” tote is an eye-catching everyday bag, or our monogrammed tote is perfect for traveling. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to stay updated on the projects we share daily, and feel free to send suggestions for projects into hello@liagriffith.com! ~ Lia

I tried to upload this onto Desin Space and it had missing leaves and There are a couple thin diagonal lines. What did I do wrong?
Thanks for letting us know– every once in awhile little bugs find their way into our SVG files! It has been fixed so you can re-download it and try again 🙂
Do you know where to purchase the bag to put the design on?
Thank you
Yes, check the links under “Shop This Project” at the bottom.
Do you know what happened to the flocked iron-on? I can’t seem to find it to purchase it!
Oh no! We haven’t heard if it’s been discontinued, I sure hope it hasn’t.
It’s an amazing design, I loved it. I have to do a job on flowers for a challenge Scrapbooking shop and took many days searching among my favorites, but this is the winner.
Of course, I will put your name and website. ” Thank you for such a colorful and summery image so !!!!!!
I think I’m going to give my sister hates bees, always shouting to be the kill and runs like crazy, when you actually have to be very quiet and so will ha ha ha. But I’ll be good and I’ll put in a glass box with …
She does not want me to say my birthday in advance, so it deserves to make a joke, that 51 years are difficult to fulfill in my circumstances and suits me my life a little brighter.
Thank you thank you wholeheartedly.

Thank you for your sweet comment Carmen, we’re so glad you like this!
Just might have to make one of these for our trip next month, won’t I be stylin’ in CA? Not too sure about showing my chubby self at beach however. I seem to be in one of my chubby phases, groan, sure wish it would hurry up and pass. Was slender for about 4 yrs. then bam, chubby again. As a very dear old friend says, I’m not fat, I’m fluffy. Not going to think about it, want to enjoy all my boys.
Youngest daughter /family leaving early Saturday a.m. for San Diego so they can see their oldest daughter who is staying with/working with our oldest daughter in S.D. at the beach. Grand daughter has gotten to spend time with oldest son who lives inland. His boys will be there soon from KY. Grand daughter leaving for Italy on June 20th., we’ll just miss her doggone it. At least we get to see her often on Facebook.
Can hardly wait to make tote bag, it’s so doggoned cute, bright and special.
Do all of you have fun plans for holiday weekend? It’s supposed to rain all weekend and next week, rats, really sick of rain.
In anticipation of summer and San Diego beach, redecorated my shutter shelf today with beach stuff. Got new metal “beach” word at Hobby Lobby yesterday on sale. Went digging today to find more beach stuff, what fun. Happy daze
