This month’s collection includes so many cute cactus projects! We love how Meagan designed these leather and felt cactus coasters so you can actually create a cactus plant with them. Using our template, you can create both the plant as well as the coasters to use as home decor.
When you’re ready to get started, check out the supplies list below. We also have a video tutorial for you to follow along with!
Cactus coasters
These leather and felt cactus coasters are a great craft project for beginners as the shapes are simple to cut by hand and assemble. Once you have your pieces cut, you can make these coasters very quickly. You’ll see in the video tutorial how each piece is layered and then ironed on to complete the coasters. Overall it takes just a couple of minutes to make each one!
Skill level: Beginner
Crafting tips: If you don’t have a cutting machine for the iron-on design, you could use a white Posca paint pen to add the spines to the felt side of each coaster. Also, if you find that your pot needs to be stabilized a bit more, you can add poly beads to the pot before attaching the pot insert.

I love the Southwestern flair and how the coasters stack to form the cactus. Super creative!
Could you also please tell me where you purchased the tiny heart shaped spoons? They are too cute.
Hi Laura! The spoons. . . they were picked up in my travels somewhere. I am always looking for cute photo props.
Clever idea. Thanks to all you talented ladies!
