Crepe Paper Virginia Creeper – Member Make Workshop
This month’s Member Make just so happens to be the fifth and final project of our Autumn Colors Craft Summit! This Crepe Paper Virginia Creeper is a fitting conclusion to this series, as what’s more “autumny” than a beautiful fall leaf? We chose this project for your Member Make as it fully embraces everything beautiful about the season.
Take a look at our list of materials and tools below before getting started on your Crepe Paper Virginia Creeper. If you prefer to be ahead of the game, don’t hesitate to download and cut your leaf pattern ahead of time. Join us on Friday, October 20, at 12:00 noon PST for our live workshop! If you miss the live, no worries; we’ll post the video here.
This video is for members only.

Virginia Creeper is one of the first leaves to begin changing color in the fall and can become almost florescent at its peak. The bright red stems of this leaf will offer a nice contrast to the deep blue berries we've added to the design. Once complete, these vines would make such a beautiful centerpiece for your holiday table.
During our live video workshop, we'll show you how to transform these purely red and green leaves into a kaleidoscope of fall color by applying a bit of PanPastel. Due to the sheer number of tools, materials, and techniques used for this project, we consider it an advanced-level craft. However, if you're keen to take on a challenge as an intermediate crafter or simply want to learn a few tips and tricks as a beginner — that's fine, too. All members, no matter their skill level, are welcome here.
We cannot wait to see your gorgeous crepe paper Virginia creepers, so please be sure to share them with us in our crafters' community or give us a shout out on Instagram with the hashtag #MadeWithLia.

Starting on these today. Love them! Thanks Lia and team;)

They are pretty! Love them for fall.
Yes! I’m going to add the Lemon Chiffon Peony with them. What do you think? Can you suggest anything thing else that would go with that?
That is an interesting combo. I love both of those but wonder if the peony might be to soft for the branches. You did inspire me to pull together an arrangement possibility for the Craft Circle video this months, and I started with these and added the amber crepe mums, the burgundy smoke bush, chestnut branch and the coral berries. I might add the burgundy lilies for a focal flower.
Hi guys, Im not finding the SVG for this…help.
It is in the tutorial and templates download. One folder, three files inside. 🙂
Hello,
I am trying to make this branch again. When I hit the make it button the cricut maker sends the project to several mats and scatters the leaves in all directions. Is there a fix for this?
Thank you
Yes! Select the full group in the layers menu in the right side bar. Right above you will see two squares that will ungroup. You will see four new groups, the top being the designer notes. Click the eye to hide that layer. Then, select each of the three groups individually, and click on the “attach” icon under the layers list. Repeat with the other two groups. This will keep them in order as shown on the canvas. Let me know if that works for you.
Thank you, it works perfectly!
Yay! Enjoy!
Hello. I have downloaded the SVG files, but when I cut them on my Cricut Maker the leaves need a 12″X12″ piece crape paper. I only have 10″ long crape paper. Did I do something wrong? Will I need to delete some of the leaves for or is there a correct file that I missed?
Thank you for helping me.
Hi Janie. So, there are some steps to keep things in place for the best cut. We do set up all our files to fit the 12×10 paper.
We have a lesson here that might help. https://liagriffith.com/craft-academy/a-crafters-guide-to-the-cricut-maker/lessons/1-lia-griffith-files-for-the-cricut/
If you still have some questions, we are here to help you in any way. So please reach out. 🙂
I trying to edit the bundle for the Virginia Creeper and add the selected items to the cart, It will not accept. Do I need to buy each item I need separately from the
Felt Paper Scissors shop.
The way that it is set up is that you can delete any of the items from the bundle, is it not letting you do that and still get the discount on the other items.
Yes. I am unable to add my items to the cart.
That is very strange. Can you email hello@liagriffith.com and Emily or Virginia can assist you to get everything you need.
I’m finally getting to make the Virginia Creeper….yay!!!! I can’t get the tutorial to open…it’s showing up in the download but won’t open when I click on it! I’ll watch the video, but I love having the tutorial also!
I just checked it and it seems to be working for me. Maybe close your Acrobat app and try again.
Please can you help, I have had the most difficult time since the templates changed to downloads instead of opening to the pdf. Sorry my tech skills are as old as I am! Can you give me directions for finding and opening these downloads? Thanks so much!
Hi Barbara! I totally get it. lol. I am feeling like a tech dinosaur lately.
We have a video in our Cricut class that shows how to download zipped files. This will appy to the zipped folders as well. It shows you how to open them and put them into your own organization system. It is in the first part of the lesson 1.
Let me know if this helps. We are here for YOU!!

These are so stunning, I just love the colors. Lia you and your team are so talented. Thank you for giving me so many choices of projects to choose from. Hopefully I will finish this project tomorrow.
Yay!! Share photos!
Amazing! These vines are so beautiful. I can’t believe I actually got to watch live. I even made sure I have the supplies so I can get to work.
I love it! Share pictures of your finished branch. 🙂
Making at least two for my fall wreath.
Yes! Gorgeous!!
I can’t find the PDF in the down load files. How many different leaf pages are there?
I just downloaded and checked the folder and there are two files, one PDF and one SVG. Meagan will add the photo tutorial after the Live.
How do i sign up for this class and get reminder emails? Looking forward to making this beauty! I love fall and all the beautiful fall colors!
Hi Lucy! No need to sign up just tune in on Friday October 20th at 12 PST, you will find the live video in the post.
I can hardly wait to make this. It is absolutely beautiful, well done!
Thank you, now off to cut my crepe!
Haveca fun week
Carol
Hi, before I start cutting crepe can I just 100% check the colour. In the picture the green leaf looks a bit like Fern but in the materials list its Juniper. So excited for this, i intend to get everything prepped ready good and early!
Thanks
Carol
For the leaves we used Juniper and Cherry! We will do a lot of shading using PanPastels to get the final color for these leaves!
