Mini Snow Globe Ornaments
Everyone loves a snow globe at Christmas, so how about making your own mini version? Our DIY mini snow globe is as cute as a button. It makes a great stocking filler or can be hung from your Holiday tree as a sweet handmade tree decoration. It’s a simple DIY project that can be made in a half hour but packs the ultimate festive punch! Begin by purchasing a set of four mini corked domes from your local craft store. Download our mini Christmas tree pattern below – you can use the SVG file if you have a cutting machine or the PDF if you want to cut it by hand. Print and cut the tree on a kraft card or card stock of your choice, then assemble the mini paper tree before gluing it to the bottom of the cork lid. Pop a teaspoon of glitter into the glass dome and then glue the cork lid on top – remembering that the tree goes on the inside! To hang your mini snow globe ornament, make a loop with a length of twine by tying two ends together. Use a low-temperature glue gun to secure the twine loop to the top of the glass dome, and once it’s dry, you are ready to hang it!

I would like to make these adorable dome ornaments this year. The link to the dome is no longer available – what size is the dome? Amazon sells a number of different sizes. Many thanks!
Jenifer
I just changed the link to the same size on Amazon.
Hi
I downloaded the pdf file but am a little confused on tree assembly. Is there a slit in the top of the cardstock? Also any tips for hand cutting for a perfect cut?
Thank you very much
The PDF has two parts of the tree. One with a slit on the bottom and the other on the top. You can slide the two slits together for the full tree. I recommend printing the template onto the cardstock and using small, sharp detail scissors for the best results. We sell our favorite pair in our shop. https://feltpaperscissors.com/product/5-detail-scissors/
Thank you for the links to purchase the items. It’s nice not to have to figure that out!
You are welcome:-)
Where do I find the links to purchase the items for the mini snow globe Ornaments? These are too cute. Can’t wait to make some
Hi Jana, look for the links at the bottom of the post under “Shop This Project” 🙂
i too was wondering about snowflakes on lights. have those martha stewart punches myself, have used them many times. sat to punch out zillions of snowflakes a few times for projects, have two
different snowflake punches which makes more interesting look.
these mini snow globes are too darned cute, killing me not to be able make more projects. and that adorable felt penguin, have got to make that a.s.a.p. or at least when shoulder/arm allow it. want to make them all. will have wonderful little collection.
Hope your shoulder feels better soon! Happy Holidays from all of us!
These are adorable. Is there a pattern for the snowflakes that go around the lights on the Christmas tree. I’m in love with them. Thanks for sharing!
The snowflakes are actually a punch that I found at a craft store years ago! I agree, they are very cute 🙂
