The Ultimate Spring Flower
Begin by gathering your materials, download our pattern PDF or print and cut using the SVG file below if you have a cutting machine. Trim all the pieces to size then score and gently fold each petal before you begin to assemble. This scoring and folding technique will give a gentle curve to the petals which reflects the light in a beautiful way – suddenly your paper flowers are brought to life! We like to use a low temperature glue gun to assemble our paper flowers – they are easy to use and will hold the paper together well. Our other top tip when making paper flowers is to wrap the floral stem in floral tape – in this project we also used it to connect the pretty green leaves to the flower stems. It makes for a professional finish, so is well worth having as part of your paper flower making materials stash!

I couldn’t find the green paper for the leaves. Do you think that a frosted paper would work?
Thanks for pointing that out! This is an older flower (still a very good one). I just updated all of the materials list.
what type of paper did you use for the flower? I have been using the metallic paper is this what you use? and also what is the name of the color for the flower itself?
Thankyou
Hi! Yes, we use metallic text weight paper. The links to the exact paper and colors (gold and botanic) are at the bottom of the post under “Shop This Project” 🙂
I’ll start by saying that I LOVE your paper flowers and have made about 90% of them and really never had any problems. This daffodil, however, kicked my butt! I think a video would be great! Or if I could just see the bottoms I could figure it out! I don’t know if I’m folding the tabs of the inside in too much and/or gluing the tabs of the petals too tight! Any help would be appreciated!
Happy to hear that we are both sharing the love of paper flowers:-) This flower is not easy. It does not matter how tight you pull the tabs at the bottom, it would just make it smaller. We are working on making more videos, it is just more time consuming and a tad bit expensive to make one for every post;-)
Hi! I’m a new member and also am new to the joy of making paper flowers! So far I’ve tried your crepe paper magnolia, your paper daffodils and your paper freesias (two stems so far – woohoo!) I’ve found your teaching videos to be clear and easy to follow, but it hasn’t taken me very long to get so-o-o tired of hand cutting all those lovely little pieces of paper! I’m just about ready to purchase a Cricut Explore Air, and I’ve seen that there are bunches of YouTube videos about the Cricut and its functions. I’m wondering if you’re familiar with these videos, and if you can recommend some.
Many thanks, and thank you so much for sharing your lovely flowers plus all your other creative ideas!
I’m so glad to hear you’re interested in a Cricut! My life is certainly much easier with a Cricut. I actually made a few Cricut videos myself, and I also have a whole Craftsy class on mastering your Cricut! You can find my YouTube videos in these posts-

Enjoy 🙂
these are so pretty!!! i attempted them as a gift for my grandma and it was an epic fail : ( i am new to paper crafting and could not figure out how to do step 6. just wouldn’t work for me. but they are lovely!!!!
We will have to do a video on these. Try another flower. You will start to get the hang of it. Promise. 😉
Another winner and so gorgeous. They remind me more of the little daffodils in KY called tete-a-tetes. They’re an exact copy of bigger daffodils but so tiny. They grow wild all over there. Had never heard of tete-a-tetes before until we lived in KY so guess living there wasn’t complete waste,
Found several great vintage/antique stores with decent prices. Spent lots of time in them as was alone alot. Hubs was on road and oldest son was working so many hours. My grandsons were quite small then so didn’t get to see them vey often, would call to visit but either not home or not answering. I was quite different than people in KY and DIL didn’t like that I was so independent. With hubs gone alot in MT and KY I Had to be independent. Was hard but what was I supposed to do, sit around crying. I kept very busy decorating our house and crafting. Had our dog to keep me company and finally met a nice lady that worked at Hobby Lobby in Bowling Green, we still keep in touch.
Will enjoy making these on my wonderful Cricut, What made you get a cricut? Had you tried a Silhouette before you got a Cricut? For so long heard so much about Silhouettes from bloggers but then Cricuts were being talked and raved about. I still can’t believe I actually have one. Will make these gorgeous flowers on my Cricut.
I want to take the lessons but will have to set up my newer pc as sound on this one doesn’t work well. Have hearing loss so need a good clear louder sound.
Better shut up and do some exercises. This part is harder than the surgery, lol. Happy daze
Thank you, so glad you like these flowers!! I did used to have a Silhouette, but I ended up switching to the Cricut. I have just found that it is much easier to use and figure out! I hope you are enjoying yours! These daffodils are a great Spring project 🙂
