A few weeks ago a reader asked me for some ideas on how to make her paper wedding flowers into corsages and boutonnières. This tutorial was already on my list, so I pushed it up to the front and here you have it! These wearable paper flower DIY corsage and boutonnieres are not only great for the crafty wedding, but make a perfect Mother’s Day corsage that she can treasure for a long time. Of course they would be great as prom flowers as well. And oh-so affordable!
In the tutorial below I am showing two ideas each for a DIY corsage and boutonnière. Find your favorite flower template on the site, and craft away! For the corsages, the first is a traditional version. With wrist corsages trending right now, the second is an idea of how to make those as well. The boutonnières are much simpler and could be used as a small corsage. The last boutonnière uses floral magnets, which you could easily substitute for two heavy duty magnets you can find at a craft or office store. Enjoy! ~ Lia

What kind of flower did you make in pink above? So many roses, so little time. Im trying to make crepe paper roses for wedding MOB/MOG wrist corsages. Needs to be on the smaller size.
That was one of my very first paper roses! https://liagriffith.com/diy-paper-rose-wedding-bouquet/. Here’s a smaller version of that pattern (https://liagriffith.com/mini-paper-rose-framed-artwork/), and another option is one of our newer patterns (https://liagriffith.com/classic-paper-roses-video/). This video on making a corsage may be helpful, too! https://liagriffith.com/crepe-paper-wrist-corsage/.
[…] A paper rose boutonniere is an appealing alternative to real flowers for a prom goer or groomsman. You can use newspaper, pink butcher paper, wrapping paper or any other kind you like to make paper flowers. Non-allergenic succulents, such as jade plants or sedum mixed together with berries and leaves make for a memorable boutonniere. […]

Thank you for your sweet comment, it put a huge smile on my face:-)
Hi! Love the tutorial… Question, how would you secure the flowers to say a pearl bracelet? I just want to make sure that nothing will fall apart during the wedding 🙂 Thanks!
I would integrate a ribbon into your flower bunch making sure it is very secure. Then, just tie that onto the bracelet maybe with a double knot. You can finish the strands with a bow.
