Mini Paper Rose Framed Artwork
Valentine’s Day. . . one of my favorites. It gives me an excuse to mix a little pink and red into my decor and a perfect opportunity to go all roses. For a little splash of Valentine’s Day color, here is a fun and easy project that you can make for your home or as a gift. We started with the Ikea Ribba shadow box frame and replaces the paper behind the mat with a matching cream color. The space inside the mat was filled with 9 mini roses made from metallic text weight paper in Jupiter and Rose Quartz. For the printable template and the SVG file for these mini roses, use the links at the bottom of this post. Clink the link for the step-by-step video tutorial or the photo tutorial of how to make these roses. Enjoy! ~ Lia

Hi Lia, I made this rose flower and so pleased with my effort wanted to share and hear your thoughts on my effort. Anyways i’m Wondering if it’s possible to get this template in a larger size. I want to make a larger rose.
Thank you
Hi Barbara, I’m so happy to hear this! We have a few newer roses that are a bit larger: https://liagriffith.com/classic-paper-roses-video/, https://liagriffith.com/blush-and-copper-paper-rose/, https://liagriffith.com/diy-paper-garden-rose/, https://liagriffith.com/diy-paper-rose-made-with-a-metallic-paper-long-stemmed-rose-tutorial/
I love this wall art and I am making this in purples for a baby gift. I bought the IKEA frames and text weight paper, but need help in assembling the final product. How did you attach the roses to the mat? I am challenged by the pointy bottoms of my roses.
What a great gift! Just smash the bottom of the flower a bit so you get a small flat spot that you can easily glue.
So beautiful! I’m planning on making this and am getting ready to purchase the supplies. I’m guessing the frame is the 9X9 frame?
Yes it is!
Hi ate lia.. the word “ate” is used to call the older sister or ahead of age to someone here in Philippines.
I really love to know more about your impressive handcraft works …. I download it and know about the step by step… to have my own knowledge with you…
Thank you!
What size should I make the pattern in Design Space for Cricut Explore? I tried making something like this with your bigger roses but the back was too pointy and the centers stuck out too much. Hoping the “minis” will work out for me better 🙂 Thank you so much for all your lovely patterns and creativity!
I think it is all how you assemble the roses. Have you looked at my video on how to make them? The small or large can look the same. As far as size, the largest petal (#7) is about 3″ across. I hear the new software is bringing it in at the original size now though, but have yet to test that.
So pretty 🙂
🙂
I love all your flowers! I just wish the metallic paper wasn’t so expensive. When I hit the lottery, I’ll spend 6 months making your flowers! They are just beautiful.
I hear you:)
I absolutely love you roses! There are boxes of them in my room made from all colors of papers and colorful magazine pages. Thank you for your inspiration. Now on to the minis.
You are welcome:) Hope you have fun with the minis, they are so precious.

Thanks Juliana.
Ok, I got ahead of myself!! I just saw your post about “star burst Wall art” and see there is a link to connect to the paper… I’m going to it right now!! Thanks again!
Have fun!! I love my piece, so much that I made two:)
Fabulous! I just made one…so easy. I will definitely make more. Thanks for being so generous and creating templates.
Thank you!!!
What is and where can you get “mettalic text weight” paper? I just discovered your blog/website and can’t wait to try some of your projects. I love this valentine rose picture frame and really want to try it! Thank you… you are very talented!
I get my paper from Paper-Papers http://www.paper-papers.com/designers/lia.html Metallic is the shine on it and text weight is lighter than cardstock which lets it be curled. Honestly that is my trick to make them look so real;-)
