Since string lights are also known as fairy lights, we had to include some in this month’s magical fairy garden collection. But of course we needed to add our own creative twist to them! Our frosted paper flower string light covers are a simple and more affordable way to add some floral fun to these tiny, twinkly lights.

Along with the string lights, all you need are your scissors, some glue, and your favorite frosted paper in whatever colors you prefer. Then download our template and tutorial below to start crafting!

It’s never too light to learn something new

If you are new to making paper flowers, this project is a great place to start as the shapes are easy to cut by hand. Plus you don’t need to add any stems, leaves, or other flower parts! There is also no curling involved — just folding along score lines and gluing petals together.

While we think these paper flower string light covers would be super cute in a kid’s room, we also think they would make pretty decor for your living room mantel or strung along a shelf. You could even use them as party decor for a fairy-themed birthday. To make it look more like a garden, you can even add some paper vines along the flowers.

Skill level: Beginner

Crafting tip: Use a high-temp hot glue gun for the best hold.

Other craft projects shown: Paper string of pearls and crepe paper English ivy
