This folksy floral lantern is perfect for fall decorating! Create a fun, unique table centerpiece, or scatter them throughout your home for some visual interest this fall season. These lanterns would also look especially pretty lit up on your front porch — the possibilities are endless! We used a shimmery antique gold paper paired with vellum to create our lanterns, but this look would work just as well with copper paper or maybe black for a gothic spin.
As mentioned, this craft is the very definition of simple. When you’re ready to begin, simply cut out the pattern, fold, glue, and go! That’s it. Just add an LED tea light, and these babies are ready to dazzle.

Hi,
Hope you are doing well. This is a great pattern!! I wanted to modify it so that I could have a bottom for the tea light to rest on and I can hang the lantern. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
P.
You can cut a square base with tabs on all four sides and glue it into place with Art Glitter Glue.
I am using your frosted paper, fine point blade, and tried both the soft grip and standard grip mat. Also have a brand new blade but paper keeps tearing on some of the corners. Any suggestions?
What cut setting are you using? I would suggest trying some different cut settings on a 1 inch star shape to see what works best for your machine and would recommend the standard mat over the soft grip.
Lia what is the size of these lanterns?
Thank you Patricia
They are 4 inches tall by 2 1/2 inces wide.
