I love your site and all the flowers you create. I have been having so much fun. The patterns are fun and easy to create beautiful flowers, however I am having trouble with the pan pastel part. Either it doesn’t stay on the flower and ends up more in clumps on my table or i get too much on the flower and it doesn’t look blended. Do you have a video or anything you can recommend that helps with the application of the pan pastels. I love the dimension and color it adds to the flower but I am having trouble with the process. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hi Michelle. So happy to hear you are enjoying these projects. 🙂 Here is a video for the PanPastel. https://liagriffith.com/video-tutorial-how-to-color-paper-flowers-with-panpastel/
Is there a way to set the pastel color so it doesn’t rub off on anything one completed?
You can use a fixative spray! https://www.amazon.com/Krylon-K01305-Coatings-11-Ounce-UV-Resistant/dp/B00397STRW/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=fixative+spray&qid=1564682397&s=gateway&sr=8-3
What color paper and pastel did you use for the lighter shade of tulip in this picture? I have made the mango and magenta tulips and they are stunning! Would like to make the other tulip to complement.
Thank you!
Hi Pilar,
We used Honeysuckle from our Secret Garden Collection for the lighter pink tulips with the Orange (280.5) PanPastel. 🙂
I am your newest fan. I started with Origami two years ago, then evolved to paper Christmas ornaments. Then I discovered the beauty of paper flowers and crepe paper. Your web site is fabulous and full of so many flowers to make. Thanks so much!
Aww thank you for the sweet comment! I’m so glad you found us and that you’ve found the love in paper flowers 🙂
